3rd and 1, you take your heaviest and least explosive RB, and you run him lateral into a safety blitz. That's dumb enough, but in the first quarter, you ran him straight ahead on 3rd and 1 and gained 4 yards.
The Hunt story is a nice story, but the kid is not a RB who gets to the corner. Why would you call that play with Hunt in the backfield?

And this defense, while solid, is not nearly as good as we'd like to think. We've been fortunate to play some pretty shitty offenses. Again, not saying they're bad. Just not as dominating as many like to think.

Scherer is an old school MLB. He likes the face to face straight up tackle like a Ray Lewis or Singletary. If Odom's defensive schemes has a negative, it is asking Sherer to do things is not adept to doing. I'm assuming this is why a more athletic Brandon Lee moved to MLB and jumped to second string. If Odom stays, I think you see Lee play a lot more.

There's nothing wrong with the defense that an offense with a pulse could fix. We had the ball for 4 fricking minutes in the first quarter.

Well, they are good but this entire season of shite offense has had a cumulative effect.

To be fair to the defense, it's every damn game with no let up. I can't blame them for wearing down earlier and earlier in every game. They would be an entirely different unit if the offense was just decent.
Plus mentally it's got to be depressing as hell to watch the offense shite the bed over and over.
I can't wait for Orgeron to take over.

I truly believe the young dudes cannot be worse than the current shite show we have on the field.

I just want to know what Henson bases play calls off of. He calls up some of the dumbest fricking plays as the dumbest times.

Seeing these comments tells me I made the right decision in not watching the game. More of the same shite.
I feel terrible that this is how Pinkel goes out. Many thanks to him for reviving the program. But the majority of this staff can leave with my blessings. As far as the team, I believe the protest bullshite broke what was already stressed by Mauk's shenanigans and on-field struggles. Pinkel's announcement brought them back together for a bit, like a family pulls together in a crisis. But then the crap starts back up again.
Glad to see this season end.

He did bring the program back but he has to take responsibility for what we are seeing today. I would have thought him potential last game and a bowl game on the line the kids would have acted like they cared today. Guess not.

Kids can care all they want, the defense obviously cares. But frick man, the defense will play almost 40 minutes, AGAIN.
At some point you have to look at the offensive scheme and wonder what the frick is going on. Even FCS schools score touchdowns against FBS teams. It's fricking mind blowing how bad the playcalling and blocking has been this year.

They checked out after Vandy. Checked back in for GP in the BYU game. But that was emotion. It didn't last.
I think the defense has got fed up, and I don't blame them. They carried the offense all year. But the offense was just too much dead weight.
