The obvious answer was the Gant 9 game suspension.

That doesn't seem obvious at all. If Fuller committed an NCAA violation with Gant, we would have self-reported by now and we'd all know.

Fuller comes off as shady and has AAU nike filth all over him. I find it comical that peeps thought he deserved a head coaching job.

This is what I sorta meant by selfish. Saying "i could have left", look at me type things. It's been a few days now, but I don't remember him saying anything staying loyal to a program or school. So selfish in the fact that he is going to do whats best for him, and whatever program he is currently at.

As for the "superior athlete" comment:

That is a fancy way of saying that they have less basketball skill and IQ, and compensate by using athletic abilities. Hence a "rougher" style that wouldn't fly in other conferences.

I can guarantee you that leaving Pitino and Louisville in favor of Haith and Mizzou was not in his best interest and hard to call that selfish. I can guarantee you that staying at Mizzou after the Haith fiasco and then the KA hiring was not in his best interest and hard to call selfish as well. Does the guy have an ego and is he trying to put himself in a good light? Sure. Even in accepting blame he does that. But I actually feel bad for the guy that he ever came here into this mess. More Haith's fault than Mizzou's fault, but I do feel bad for him that his career was somewhat derailed.

Yeah, I don't feel bad for him. He bet on Haith, knowing he was coming off the Miami scandal, that is his own choice. Sometimes business deals don't work out.

So he knew more than Alden about Miami.

It was pretty known about the Shapiro allegations, and he knew that Haith wasn't allowed to bring any staff with him. If the puzzle pieces fit...

So that's a yes as well as Alden should have known.

But this isn't about alden, its about Tim fuller.

Alden screwed the pooch by going after Matt Painter, who is never leaving purdue. Left himself with few to no options.

But Tim Fuller was at Louisville with Pitino. Leaving Pitino for Frank Haith is a dumb career move. Plain and simple. So no, I don't feel bad for him.

If he stays 2 more years at Louisville, he likely gets a mid-major job after the natty...something way better than Florida A&M.

I have friends who have helped me alot in my life, but I am not passing on a surefire golden goose for some unknown quantity. That is just dumb business. And yes, College Basketball coaching is a business.

But you're arguing from 20/20 hindsight. Shapiro wasn't known to be conncected to Haith with NCAA violations until after Haith got here. If it was known beforehand, the hire doesn't happen.

And it it wasn't known to ADs and the NCAA, there's no reason to think Fuller knew. I, too, don't feel sorry for Fuller. But I do see how a person could think more positively of him given this interview.

That is definitely debatable. As to whether Haith did anything wrong, i don't know, nor do I care.

Point was that he left a Top 10 coaches staff, where he was for not very long and had worked his way up...for a Frank Haith. Sure, sympathies to him for trying to pay back some loyalty to a friend, but he bet on a friend and lost.

My opinion of Fuller did not change one bit from the interview. If you interview me, I'm going to put myself in the most positive light possible.

I'm glad Sam Snelling did it. It was fun to read. It just reaffirmed my opinion of him. I'd love to read a piece of his opinion of KA, or KA's opinion of him.

Damnit Bass, don't ruin a good thing. I get entertainment value laughing at message boards acting like they know stuff. The Fuller rumors had gotten me through the last few months after the Pinkel sucks and our defense sucks had started to thin out.

Part 2 of the interview. Addresses the players and the team not having an identity this year (and probably next year too).

Thanks for that. Good stuff again. Not extremely encouraging but who knows. Maybe KA can instill that identity next year.
