Really enjoyed the read...but found Fuller to be full of himself and selfish.

I don't agree. But isn't this true of most BB players at this level?

Sam Snelling did an excellent job. I appreciate Coach Fuller for all he did at Mizzou.

Interesting to hear how they had to baby sit many of the players. No wonder Pressey often did what he pleased on the court.

So basically Haith is an even bigger piece of shite than we thought, and we know more as to why he was hired.

In his interview, Haith told Alden he could steal Fuller from Louisville. This gave him a huge advantage to landing the job.

Haith gets hired, uses his wife to plant a seed with Fullers wife, which blossoms into Fuller feeling obligated to leave a great position at Louisville to come join Haith at Mizzou.

I think that's just a terrible interview.

Fuller may as well have just conducted it on himself, for all he was challenged.

Never trust a one sided interview like that.

I thought it was pretty candid and honest with a level of disclosure we don't see very often.

I don't know what you guys are gripping about.

I thought he opened up more than would have been expected. It was one of the better basketball pieces I have seen in awhile. It was a good read and confirmed a few things for me.

I'm surprised at how few comments this thread got though.

The one thing I took away from that is that KA came in and completely changed the environment.

From a happy go lucky kind of coach, to a disciplinary type.

I guarantee it was more than those guys could handle. I don't have a problem with that, but we'll see if it nets results over the next few years.

I agree. Obviously, he wasn't be cross examined by a lawyer. But I thought even without getting grilled, he opened up and gave some insight to some things that he certainly didn't have to. He talked about some not so flattering stuff voluntarily. He didn't have to be grilled about it.

What? Where? He basically took the blame for the majority of the issues that occurred at Mizzou over the last 2 years. The Price situation, the off the court issues that he should have done more to prevent, and especially with this past season and not working these kids hard enough.

I thought this was a great interview and I wish Fuller the best in the future. I don't know the specific reasons why he was let go, and it's not really discussed in this piece, but the big thing that seems to have killed this program was the Miami Scandal. That literally destroyed the recruiting class and momentum that Mizzou had building and we ended up with a top heavy class and a bunch of scrubs on the bench.

With all the core team staying together, if Mizzou can get itself a center for the first time in 3 years, we could win 20 games this year.

He really lost me when he started talking about Rosburg being great in the Big 12, but not the more athletic SEC. I don't know if he knows this, but the Big 12 is/was the superior basketball conference. Fuller comes off as shady and has AAU nike filth all over him. I find it comical that peeps thought he deserved a head coaching job.

It's based on the style of play in both. My take was it was also his way of saying Rosburg just isn't good without saying he just isn't good.

No doubt he's shady, in the same sense that Coach K, Cal, Pitino, Williams, Donovan and all the others are. KA just doesn't want to do things that way and that's cool. Hope it works.

And the SEC is more athletic even though the Big 12 is a better overall comference. I'm not sure many would disagree with that assessment.

What Fuller didn't talk about and evidently couldn't was why he wasn't retained by KA. The obvious answer was the Gant 9 game suspension. KA had enough faith early on to hire Fulford on Fuller's recommendation.
