For double the salary and double the job.
MR has been honest with BO from the start. He was always a serious candidate but MR would look at all his options. MR has an offer out and has told the target he has to have a yes or no by Sunday at the latest. He's told BO this. BO has told Memphis this.
Now we wait.
Also says the other candidate is not Richt (thank god)

That reads like it's a coach currently playing for a conference championship with the comment, "not mentioning who it is, leaks would be a bad deal here."

So sunday it is. That seems like forever from now.

sounds like Memphis tried to pressure Odom with today's presser but Odom didn't blink. I do like that guy. If not this week, he'll be our HC one day.

Charlie Strong it is.

1. Odom hasn't signed with Memphis or anyone else yet
2. Herman has "agreed in principle" to a Houston contract but nothing has been signed with talks of it happening after the ACC title game. Also, Herman was a bit wishy washy with his comments about it. For example: "These things take twists and turns along the way as they sometimes do, but I don't anticipate that happening"
3. mubobby says we are waiting on our top candidate to coach in his CCG to see if he will be the guy. If not, it will be Odom.
4. Guys coaching in CCG's this weekend: McElwain, Saban, Shaw, Helton, Sweeney, Fedora, Herman, Ferentz, Dantonio
5. Of those, the only realistic ones in play are Herman and Fedora.

LOL
thank god for MUBobby and his throwing shite at a wall info.
He's said nothing, that we don't already know. I could know nothing about the coaching search and come up with Odom, Herman, and Fedora.

Odom does have balls of steel.
I love how he called their bluff.

You knew that the search was down to two people, and offer has been made, and we'll have a resolution by Sunday?
Damn, I didn't know that. Why didn't you let the rest of us in on it?

Wouldn't be surprised if it is Rhule or Herman.
Odom is obviously the fallback.

Yahoo article says we met with Sonny Dykes in Colorado, not Wells, for whatever that's worth.

Says Mack met with a few people in Denver. He's still there too.

I think he's just doing is due diligence and interviewing people with interest.
Sunday should be an interesting day.

Yep. You've got to interview people regardless of who you've really got on the radar. You never know when you need a coordinator or something. Plus, if the guy turns out as a complete failure you can say he was the best candidate at the time versus just saying he was the guy you wanted from day 1.
If you're hiring Saban, you hire Saban. There's maybe a handful of guys you just hire. Everyone else? Interview people.
Plus, it might help out in the future. If one of the guys you interview gets a raise out of it their agent kind of owes you a solid.

Missouri athletic director Mack Rhoades has been in Denver this week conducting interviews for the school’s vacant football coaching job, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Among the candidates in the region Rhoades is believed to have interviewed: Air Force coach Troy Calhoun; Utah State coach Matt Wells; and Colorado State coach Mike Bobo. But a fourth candidate from outside the Rocky Mountain area is meeting with Rhoades in Denver on Tuesday, according to sources: California coach Sonny Dykes.
Dykes, in his third year at Cal after replacing Jeff Tedford, has a contract extension on the table from the school but has not agreed to it. His Golden Bears finished the regular season 7-5, returning to bowl eligibility for the first time since 2011. Dykes could be in play at other schools with openings as well.
Calhoun is in his ninth year at Air Force, with a 67-48 record. The Falcons will play at San Diego State on Saturday for the Mountain West title. Wells is in his third season at Utah State, with a 25-15 record. Bobo, the former offensive coordinator to Mark Richt at Georgia, is in his first season as a head coach. Colorado State is 7-5 and awaiting a bowl destination.
A fifth candidate already is on staff at Missouri, defensive coordinator and Mizzou alum Barry Odom. He’s also the widely perceived favorite at Memphis, where he served as an assistant under Justin Fuente from 2012-14, if he does not get the job at his alma mater.

Yea so no one can even say for sure. Journalism these days is a pinnacle of stupid.

To be fair, people do these things so other people don't know.
There's a reason Mack is in a neutral location where normal people don't really care what he's doing instead of setting up shop in Columbia or flying around to everyone's hometown.
