Does the defense create a turnover at a pivotal point in any game this season?

No. They don't know how to.

Can't tackle.

Afraid to tackle.

Don't know their role.

Stupid penalties.

The defense played well enough to win this game. Special teams, Lock and the receivers lost this one.

Maybe. Maybe not.

They definitely played better. I'd give them a C-.

Before the game, if you knew our defense only gave up 24 points how would you have felt?

I would have thought for sure we won

USC had less than 400 yards. Yea the defense didn't respond well to the turnovers, and still had a couple mistakes.
This loss is on special teams and the passing game.

I don't know if I thought that we would win. I wasn't sold on the offense yet. In fact, I warned of how good we looked against Delaware State last year and look where we ended up.

I will give the defense an A for improvement but if you think this is anywhere near an A level defense, we will just agree to disagree.

I would agree with that.

I will also continue to say that, while improved from week 1, this defense is still a long way from being what we've seen in the recent past.

Oh I don't by any means. Just thought our defense did well enough to win this game.

Yea I never said or thought this defense was going to be good, just good enough to let the offense win games. Today the defense played good enough. Special teams played terrible. The offense got inside the red zone 3 times, had 3 FGs.

That TO streak we had is a distant memory.

Wasn't it something like 40ish some games? 45? 48?

It was a high number.

Yeah. Right around there.

Our back 7 is just too weak for that. I thought the front played okay.

Slow down, there. Let's start slow, and remove the phrase "at a pivotal point" out of your Subject line. Your granularity is obscuring a more pressing concern.

No they did not. The entire 2nd half, SC got 7 yards on 1st down. Their 3rd down conversion was probably over 60%.

They played better than the score looked like. And they didn't completely embarrass themselves. As a team, we were embarrassed.

That was steck's defense. This has been my big issue with BO since day one. His defense does not create turnovers.
