Yeah that sounds like a non-starter. Just a cop wanting to show he can control an NFL player. You get pulled over in that situation and they don't hold you unless van buren is right next door.

Sounds to me like he was treated rather leniently. Nothing but a warning given for driving 65 in a 55 zone. Paid the past due fine and was released.

he wasn't treated leniently. most officers will tell you +10 is the standard. the guy who pulled over dgb must have seen something else that made him pull him over.

its a relief to see such a tame violation for dgb. i"m sure that officer made a glance around the car and didn't notice weed, so there's that.

Welcome to 1985! +10 hasn't been around in forever; towns make money off of anything over +3.

He was treated the opposite of leniently. Van Buren PD knows damn well Osage beach isn't driving an hour to pick up someone on a traffic warrant. Average joe citizen isn't booked on that warrant. They are warned of the warrant and given their ticket or warning. Unless you're being an arse of course

There is new technology that makes paying fines much easier. I don't believe it is necessary for one jurisdiction to have to drive to another to collect the fine from the offender.

And I know 10 miles over the speed limit is not considered a freebie. Depends on posted speed, Higher limits get more grace, but 7 over is the most I would try when 70 mph is posted. And I would be watching closely at that.

Paying a fine? Yes can be done anywhere. But had DGB not paid the fine, Osage would have had to come get him because it is their warrant and they are the charging jurisdiction. In most cases a call is made and Osage says no we're not getting him. Let him go. Pretty irresponsible for someone making that kind of money to not just pay the fine in the first place though.

OT- I love floating around that area.

And because of that I stand with DGB
