Ryan Walters still here, no care.

Walters doesn't coach cornerbacks.

Brown is a good coach. Odd that he seems to move around constantly, though.

He seemed fine, but a bitch move to switch less than a month before signing day.

Telling that we didn't care enough to match whatever Auburn gave him

I guess he's a recruiter because our CB's weren't very good last year. Yeah, even with Penton's INT numbers. If he was that good he would have no INT's because QB's wouldn't pick on him all the time.

Penton was one of the top 5 CBs in the SEC last year, but I can't say that has much to do with Brown.

Penton has special gifts.

He's legit.

If you ever listen to Penton speak he has a very superior knowledge of the game, his particular assignment and when that allows him to be aggressive in his coverage and not. He's impressive and articulate.

He's going to be a long time NFL starter IMO, and then a great coach after that.

I think he's good. I also think if you're great you don't end up with so many INT's. Penton is also good for celebrating tackling someone 60 yards downfield.

I like the kid. Just think he's overrated a bit.

Do you think he's better than Gaines was?

Penton is very similar to Gaines. Gaines would be a NFL starter if he could stay healthy.

Penton like every other player just will need to stay healthy. Gaines was picked in the 6th round Penton will go a little sooner.

Penton could be a very solid NFL player.

Could be. I just don't remember guys like Gaines getting constantly torched like Penton was. Maybe torched is too strong of a word. I can't remember opposing teams throwing right at Gaines the way they'd go right at Penton. Or maybe big plays like UGA going right at him to win the game sticks out to me more than it really should. Hardly the reason we lost but gave up a long one against UT. Also seemed to get picked on by UK, including a long TD. I just don't remember Gaines giving up so many big plays. Maybe he did.

Alec Lemon, Austin Pfleugrad, Justin Blackmon, Tevin Reese, Malcom Kennedy, Bruce Ellington, and Ryan Broyles all had pretty good days playing across from EJ.

It happens when you are covering the primary receiving option on a college team.

Yeah, could be the case. It just stands out for me more this year for some reason. No question he made big plays but it just seemed like he was giving up just as many big plays.

When the team is losing, every thing is magnified.

In 2015 MU allowed 36 plays over 20 yds on 354 passing attempts. 1 long passing play every 10 opponent passing attempts.

In 2016 MU allowed 48 plays over 20 yds on 418 passing attempts. 1 long passing play every 9 passing attempts.
