I'm actually feeling pretty good about this year. Our defense will remain stout enough to keep games close despite the losses of Brady and Brothers. But, the question marks at OL do worry me a bit. However, I think with the new staff and game plan we'll surprise some teams and even our own fans. The additions at RB and maturing receiver will provide some weapons. I think our offense provides enough improvement for a 7-5 year. But, I'm going to be optimistic and say we go 8-4 winning a couple of upsets. I say we surprise Georgia early in the season, and beat Florida in a trap game. If our offense gets going a possible 9-3 season with a string of wins late in the year.

Although, the team I want to beat most this year is Tennessee. Hopefully by the time we meet, our offense has started to pick up steam and TN has been beaten up a bit. The melt would be great.

Special teams will also be much, much better. FG's maybe, maybe not, but punting and the return game will.

Ross was a great pickup. If he stays healthy we should be in good hands.

What's great about this season from an offensive point of view is that no SEC coach knows what to expect with our offense.

In fact, I bet at least a few SEC coaches assume our offense will be shite due to last year's abomination.

Smarter coaches will look to Heupel's offenses at Oklahoma, but still...how do you prepare for an offense coached by a new person when the previous year's offense was the worst in college football?

With Heupel you know there's going to be improvement. The big question is: How much?

I like that. It makes Missouri football a big question mark again. Give's us the ability to easily exceed expectations and catch opposing teams off guard.

I wish I could share your optimism. I think Ellarbee is a good coach, but I think inexperience and near zero depth will doom this O-line. I'm predicting 5-7 this season, but I'm looking forward to a great 2017

Perhaps my optimism is a little high, and I'm confusing it with excitement about the season starting. But, I think that we see improvement enough in offense to reach a bowl game. The weapons at RB have to make it further up field than Witter last year. Even Witter should make it further up field than Witter last year with the extra 20lbs he put on. Our OL may be weak, and its not deep, but no team in the country knows how to defend an offense that hasn't been seen yet. It gives us a danger factor.

I think 8-5 is pretty reasonable with a bowl win. 7-5 regular season.

Killz, once in a while you pause from being the Star Warrior and make some great points. This is one of those times.

Well then I failed.

(Honestly, I'm the most interesting and layered Mizzou poster by a mile. The question is: Do you take the time to peel the layers and discover the real Killz, or do you allow emotions to blur your perspective?)

Killz, I'm not emotional towards you.

You are very interesting though, one of the most fascinating characters on here. No question about it. You're very complex.

As an outsider looking in I've thought this looks like a 6-7 wins in the regular season team. Which would not be the end of the world. Builds some momentum and puts Mizzou in a game against a bottom feeder Big 12 team that y'all can beat like you caught them stealing.
