Harold was "seriously injured" in a car accident this afternoon on Hwy 63 south. The car flipped, and he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. Please pray for him

I requested to have my thread removed as it posted right after yours. Seriously hope the young man is ok. If anyone gets any updates on his health please post

Wow absolutely awful, had such an incredibly bright future ahead of him, more than likely first round pick, and now all of that and more in the balance. :(

Strange there has been no news, but I'm sure HIPPAA complicates things. Still praying for the young man

I seen more pictures on twitter and the car looked thrashed. It was on its roof and they had to pull it from a ditch. The passangers injuries were described as minor while Brantleys are serious.

All they are saying is that it wasn't life threatning.
I hope he will be alright for the sake of him and his love ones.

Serious injuries not considered life threatening. The last half of that sentence is what matters most to me

Everything I have seen is that it is serious but NOT life threatening

Thank God for that. Thoughts and prayers out to them that they'll be okay at the end of the day.

Blessings to all the caregivers and prayers sent to all.
I've been in a ditch in a similar accident. Not a scratch. I was wearing my seatbelt.

UPDATE: University of Missouri junior defensive tackle Harold Brantley is in good condition and recovering nicely following surgery performed for injuries he sustained in an automobile accident Sunday afternoon in the Columbia area. We’re pleased to report that the prognosis is very good long-term, and that Harold should be able to make a full physical recovery.
The following update came this morning from Rex Sharp, Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, and our Head Football Athletic Trainer:
• The injuries sustained in the accident included a fracture in his lower left leg (tibia), and this was successfully repaired surgically last night...
• Harold also sustained some ligament damage in his left knee which will require surgery at a later date, perhaps within 3-4 weeks…
• Additionally, Harold sustained multiple rib fractures and is naturally pretty sore from those…
• If Harold continues to progress as scheduled, he will be out of ICU Tuesday and moved into a regular room…
• It’s too soon to put a timetable on a planned return to football activities, so we’re going to leave that open and focus all attention on helping Harold recover and get back to full health first. When that information becomes known, we’ll certainly share it with everyone…
• Harold is receiving world-class healthcare from Mizzou team orthopaedists Dr. Pat Smith and Dr. Jim Stannard, in addition to the healthcare team at University Hospital. We are grateful for the multitude of prayers and well wishes from all over the country for both Harold and Maddie Stock, and are very thankful that they are both okay…

Damnit, who doesn't put on a seatbelt these days? Good thing he was driving one of the heaviest sedans in recent memory.
Take care of yourself young man, that one was close.

So how did the accident happen? Do we know? He just lose control for no reason? Blow a tire? Get cut off? Lord forbid alcohol?

Looks like the road was wet in the pics. I hope to God no alcohol or weed in his system.
