Have been debating in my mind if we're better off with Jontay staying for his senior year so that we can have another Top 25 player or whatever coming in with more time to recruit other top players? My rational mind says if he reclassifies, it's better to have him now and improve more now. But I wonder if longer term, it wouldn't help more in terms of who else Martin can bring in down the road.

It is a conundrum of a choice. I am still sort of stuck in the "once bitten twice shy" camp. Given that, I think I would go with "the bird in the hand" approach. Of course that is assuming our palm is not actually empty.

I think Mizzou is better off getting Jontay this year. He's probably a 2 or 3 year player. so when MPJ goes pro after next season, Jontay would be ready to carry the team his sophomore season. He would be in position to have a year similar to what Swannigan had for Purdue this year.

Trying to keep the positive buzz looking towards the '18 class. Came across his name being mentioned as a hopeful wish. Has anyone heard of "CAG" softening on his commitment to SLU?

He was non committal when PM tried to ask him if he would be interested in Mizzou.

No. and until he breaks up with his gf,(soccer player at SLU) is wont happen.
He's also pretty close to 2017 recruit - Goodwin, and 2018 verbal- thatch.
Also Jontay is now top 10 on rivals.

Just wondering, if JP (class of 17) is now taking the last scholly made available with the Kemp transfer where does that leave Jontay? Wouldn't someone else have to leave to make room if he reclassifies?
If needed and notwithstanding APR?s who would most likely go?

JP is reclassifying to 18. Year of prep school

Thanks JQ 4 clarification. The Twitter link did not work 4 me and ESPN listed his class as 17.
Side note, Déjà Vu moment. With now 2 potential "JPs" to discuss I am taken back to JP in the movie classic "Angels in the outfield".

Aside from Kansas, Illini ranks a close 2nd when it comes to enjoying the taste of their fan's tears (ala Cartman in classic South Park episode)

I am not sure about the competition and the court level camera work is a bit rough but Jontay looks like he could in time become a beast.

If this were a different time with a different coach I would make a note here about how there is another 2* CVL in the 2018 class.

Five-star Reggie Perry has decommitted from Arkansas, his mother confirmed to ESPN.
Comments from the Twitter "experts" seemed to indicate UK, MU, Indiana may be in play for this guy now.
#17 player in ESPN's rankings
6-foot-9 power forward from Thomasville High School (Georgia)
"Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State and others were involved when he originally made his decision."

He would be an excellent "get" but if Kentucky really wants him I will mute my hopeful expectations. F#*@ sleeze coach "Cal"

If he's better than Nikko or Smith, the right move is to take him and process one of the existing players.
