Well, he kinda has to, coaches at schools like Mizzou have no choice.

True, but it's nice to see the haul Odom made in what amounted to half a class last year: Crockett, Mason, etc. and see that he might actually be as good or better than Pinkel in that department.

I think he's done an excellent job recruiting.

I'd like to believe Pinks left a book sitting around his office regarding the Mizzou Way in regards to player evaluation and coaching them up, à la "The Cardinal Way".

GP literally wrote the book on that shite. Then kinda forgot about it...

There was a clip of him when he was DC going around the field asking guys when they started playing football.

The guys asked why? He said he's just taking a poll.

I knew his angle.

In any sport there are real and not real players -- even if they're good it doesn't mean they're real. A lot of this has to do with when you started playing and the school of training you came up from, but even more than that it's just who you are.

There's so many guys who are actually good at certain sports, they have certain physical components, they've been taught and trained, ect but they're not legit.

Barry is a legit football man from a legit football line of training.

He has a nose for the real guy and the fake guy.

Pinkel likely didn't and/or didn't place the same value on it, and I think he actually got pleasure out of taking on guys who weren't real. That's how donks like Yost become your OC.

BO is gonna bring in as many real football players as he can find and it's gonna make a serious difference.

BO was the recruiting coordinator for a couple of classes that included guys like Daniel. Those classes weren't ranked very high, but included several key players that turned the program around.

Could Trey Baldwin be one of the players that was under evaluated by many recruiters?

He has the size, he is smart (graduated early), and knows both offense and defense from playing both sides of the ball in high school.

One negative is he was recruited by Cross. I haven't read anything about him leaving.

Baldwin committed long before Cross joined the staff. I am pretty sure that Ricker was his primary recruiter.
