I've mentioned my son wants to earn a scholly to pitch for LSU. I made the mistake of asking the LSU rant fanbase "what academic programs is LSU known for?"
OMG!!! The answers I got from those people. I would call them mentally handicapped but that would be an insult to the truly mentally challenged. I can't accurately put into words other than to say I have flushed more stimulating, thought provoking and intelligent shite than the mouth breathers who commented on my thread.
I will never make that mistake again.

I honestly have no idea what LSU is known for, academically. I'd assume oil and has engineering, and some good ag/conservation programs. And I think they have a decent law school maybe?
As far as the fan base, I can't help ya there!

The part about your son pitching. Not the glory holes.

I'm not trying to be a snob, but the whole LSU vibe just makes feel creepy. It's probably the difference between Southern and Midwest sensibilities, but all the same, I would be more comfortable with my sons being in Columbia. I was hoping LSU had some great academic specialty that would make it an unique challenge, but there is nothing worth the social risk.

It took me all of about 5 seconds to figure that out when I first logged on to this site. Got to keep in mind that talking college academics is not why 99% of these morons are here in the first place.
I have a friend who's son just graduated from LSU. If I remember, I'll have to ask him and see what he says. Then there is always google.

I know guys that have been drafted that never even got a look from MU. Has your kid been in contact with jamieson?

Honestly he should go to a good JUCO. He would get a ton of exposure at a place like Maple Woods.

I graduated LSU. Lots of good programs there especially engineering. The Cox academic center is one of the finest in the country.
LSU baseball is considered an elite baseball program.
By way of example:
National champions 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009.
Alex Box stadium where the baseball team plays is one of the finest collegiate baseball facilities in the country. It opened in 2009.
Total Attendance at Alex Box Stadium/Skip Bertman Field.
2009 42 403,056 9,596
2010 38 404,916 10,655
2011 37 390,595 10,556
2012 44 472,391 10,736
2013 43 473,298 11,006
Total
204 games
Attendance 2,144,256
Average attendance per game. 10,511
Would you rather your son pitch in front of maybe 1,100 per game or less? In 2012 I read where Missouri had an average attendance in baseball of 824.
This is not a slight to Missouri baseball. But in fairness we are talking two very different programs.

This freshman is pitching against your old conference mate, the beakers this weekend.
Alex Lange
RHP 6-3, 198, Freshman
Lange hails from Lee's Summit, Mo., where he earned the title of 2014 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year. As a senior in high school, he went undefeated (12-0) with an amazing ERA of 0.82 and 114 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched. Those stats are as impressive as they come. What makes Lange so good is a fastball in the mid-90s, which he controls very well, and an outstanding power slider that he uses as his “out pitch.” Lange is a student of the game and a very smart young man. In high school, he maintained a 4.0 GPA.
