Brown will get a 4th star. I think the 5 DL are more important than the other 5.

May I suggest a radical treatment for the PBs of the world who see a possible scenario where we could very easily get a top 20 and maybe even a top 10 class;

He committed to a recruiting site darling, so no it would not surprise if he was awarded a 4th star.

Would be a big jump though.

And no, we aren't getting a top 20 class. We simply do not have the infrastructure to recruit one. Even if we landed every in state offer it's still probably only borderline that it would be top 20. It will likely end up in the 30s somewhere.

Ugh!! "infrastructure"? Damn once again for someone who pumps sunshine on the reg, you are deep down a defeatist who twists and pulls to convince youself and make ready your own psyche for when your sunshine ultimately does not show itself and you are left to fumbling for excuses and convince yourself that you would have been right if not for the damn infrastructure, whatever that means.

We differ because I think MU can, should and I expect success. Whereas you dream & hope for success but deep down you do not believe and you build in excuses for when your hopes and dreams disappoint.

I do give you credit for being a persistent never tiring pitbull when it come to following the subconscious protocol you have set up.

A Rivals top 20 class most years has 8 4* players in it. Missouri HS FB programs produce about 4 4* rated players every year. Next years "big" state class has 5 in it. Even landing half of those every year, the staff would have to land 6-7 out of state 4* players. What strategy would you suggest for accomplishing that?

I never said we can't expect success. We can certainly win. Have before and will again.

It just won't be with recruiting top classes. It will have to be done with identification and development. You can win with classes in the 30's. You just have to be very good in the other areas.

I know what it takes to win here, and the avenue that must be traveled.

I know people hate to hear this, but BOs worth will be known when his players are JR and SR.

It's very easy to scream "recruit better". This is a banner year for the state right? There are 6 4* players in this class. Last year there was only 1 and he didn't even qualify. Knowing damn well no school gets every instate offer, where do you plan on finding the rest? What's the play to get multiple out of state 4* to come play here? I need some specific because no one can give them.

Are there coaches that could recruit better than BO? Sure. Are there any that could recruit at NC level year in and year out? LOL

To be clear, i also doubt we will have a top 20 class.

What i was trying to point out that the loss of brown does not mean the math is impossible. If you plug in the names i mentioned (most of the missouri 9 and the bama guys) it can get us a top 20 class on the 247 class calculator.

I agree its doubtful but a really good season gets us near. Now BO just has to win.

Let's hear your solution that will allow for landing 6 out of state 4* players every recruiting cycle.

Don't keep that shite to yourself. The rest of us want to , too.

Bottom line is if MU does not win games ( 7 or more) MU will get "zero point zero" of the top 10 Missouri high school recruits. Bluebloods will not be the only program taking talent from Missouri. Lovie will get his fair share.

In the words of Al Davis "just win baby just win" and the recruits will come.

Here is a link to a Columbia Tribune article by Blake Toppmeyer where he discusses the lack of even 1 commitment from this year's fertle crop of in-state recruits. I think in his own way he may be confirming the NRSB's storm alert.

LINK

P.S. For all you knee-jerk reactionary downvoters ( U No Who U R) who bothered to peruse the article, just consider and give weight to the fact that it is written for the local rag by an author who has a personal interest in painting with a rosey brush the sunhine pump machine.

Once the football team starts winning, we will start getting some big commits. We can get the ball rolling the 2nd game verses South Carolina.

I thought Foster committing would break the logjam, having our QB in the fold to build around.

It is still evident that recruits interested in MU have to see Odom prove he can win. There is no leap of faith.

We won 2 conference championships in the SEC and that didn't bring in the big recruits, so let's search some more for real answers.

Are you forgetting that those two conference championships got us Beckner and Lock?

Lock's dad played at the Zou and Beckner wanted to stay close to home, because he and his family are pretty close knit, plus the Illini stunk. You can throw Strong in there if you like. 3 players come after playing in 2 SEC Championship games.

We need to get those facilities upgraded soon and the Mizzou fan base dedication isn't up to SEC standards. I thought that the fan base was pretty good back in the seventies. Spring game crowds would also help, too. These kids today love attention and a full stadium of fans cheering for them and especially a chance at a NC.

I hate this. I get what your saying, but other than Florida and Georgia, there are few or no other pro sports, and also nothing to fing do.

Nate Brown had a Georgia offer after he commited to Mizzou. Case Cook had some good offers. Marquise Doherty and Abbington were 4 stars that didn't pan out. A.J Harris is a 4 star still on the team. He will be great.

The 2014 class was a bust. 2015 and 2016 were pretty good with several guys not panning out though. The 2017 class looks good on paper. I really like the Juco DTs.

We won the conference in "13" and "14" so you would have thought the "14" and "15" classes would have been pretty good, but they weren't especially being in the SEC.

2014
ranked 34th
LINK

2015
ranked 27th
not too bad of a class on paper, but should have been better being in the SEC
