I wonder if we even try to add a QB now or if we just shift focus to the 18 class and James Foster?

I don't think they saw Estes as a real qb anyway, so I don't think they were really overly concerned with getting one in this class.

Heupel should be able to get a high end guy who's capable of pushing for playing time as a freshman if Lock leaves.

Heupel in combination of Lock being a 1st rounder should get us something legit.

It's not ideal but not taking a QB in this class isn't a deal breaker.

I think that's a no brainer for Estes. The guy wanted him back at Western Michigan and offered him pretty quick after he got to Minnesota.

I think we are in great shape for Foster as long as Auburn does not offer.

Not taking a QB this class should also add to our appeal for next class.

IMO what not taking a QB in this class means is that there is some pressure to get it right in the next class. Might not have the option of missing on who you take in 2018.

We almost assuredly take two next year if we can't get a guy worthwhile this year. Something still may shake loose though.

We have seen what happens when you don't get it right (Mauk) and stop recruiting a better player (Kiel).

It's not like Kiel turned into anything great. What did he run through, 3-4 schools?

No matter how the situation turned out, Mauk was a solid get (unless Pinkel's staff was ignoring or missing red flags about substance use in high school).

I think we need a guy like estes in this class, a third string bench guy who run wildcat if we have injuries. we could fill this with a lot of different guys other than estes though. If Lock has a great season and decides to head to the draft, what do we have in numbers? This was the problem when we lost mauk. We might have a true freshman if we recruit well but that's a big if.
I like the idea of a conveyor belt of recruiting QBs. One every class and not more. when we bunched them up a few years ago we got Hosick and Printz, we ended up losing both of them and had to start Lock early.

Sounds like Wilson had a really good redshirt year. He's probably the top choice if Lock were to leave after this season. Wouldn't have to change much on offense.

Getting a QB in 2018 will be important though.

Speaking of Eddie Printz, did you guys see he left Texas state a year early to go play pro in Italy.

1) Why would you leave early, I get leaving early to make money in case of an injury but pro football in Europe?

2)Theres football in Italy?

Printz had already graduated from Mizzou. Why stay in college to be a backup?

Plus it's Italy. Everyone should try living overseas before they have real responsibilities.

Mauk is lucky that Corbin Berkstresser was recruited. If not for that he would be the worst QB since Jimmy Dougherty. Bud Sasser is the only reason Mauk completed 48 percent of his throws as MU won the East in 2014. He completed less than 40 percent of his throws to the rest of the team.

Wilson would seem to be the next in line at this point, and it seems the staff is pretty high on his ability.

Possible OV by OLB Malik Robinson
Found this on a UNC recruiting site. He's committed to UNC.

LINK

3-star linebacker Malik Robinson is a verbal commitment, but after his official visit recently, he made clear he’d be visiting Indiana and Missouri.

Going to put the full court press on him. Hopefully Brooks, Miller, Davis, and Armstrong text him a few times to remind him who offered him first.
