Missouri checking out 2016 QB Nathan Rourke. He was the #1 QB in Canada last year and transfered to a private school in Alabama for his Senior season. Here's a good article on him with video highlights.

Interesting story and video. That spin escape move is very Mauk like. He's an elusive runner for sure.

So what do the real talent evaluators here think of the kid's arm strength? Power 5 arm?

New commitment Tyreic Martin. 3* DE from Alabama, will probably move to DT at Mizzou.

Throws rainbows, ball doesn't explode from his hand. Not the QB to follow Lock. IMHO

My guess is the QB from the 2016 class never plays more than a backup role.

A blurb from an article on Top 50 recruits in Alabama with commentary from the local talent evaluator.

quote:

42. Tyreic Martin

Rivals.com Ranking: Three-star

High School: Valley

Height: 6-3 Weight: 265

Position: Defensive end

What you need to know: Martin had 43 tackles in 2014, 10 sacks and four quarterback hurries.

Considering: Cincinnati, Memphis, Southern Miss

Bone says: Martin is an aggressive pass rusher. He plays with great leverage. He has very good size and quickness.

Dante Sawyer probably regrets not following Nate Brown to Mizzou. He would look good in our DL.

I checked and the Texas offer was real. They've actually been on him for a while. He released his top 6 in July and we weren't there.

Who wants to go to Texas right now? They had a player tweeting about transferring to Aggie during their game Saturday!

He had legit offers from Texas and Oklahoma, both wanted him so he's a big get for us.

Kellen Diesch LINK, Offensive Tackle, just de-committed from Arky. We offered before he committed. He's got a long, impressive list of offers, but we seem to be doing well in Texas so who knows.

Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, TX. I think we might lose him to a golf scholarship somewhere. Or have him play two sports.

Has there been a football recruit who played two sports and golf was the second sport?

Demarkus Acy Is a Wanted Man

JASON HIGDON
06/25/2015

One of the hottest prospects in Texas is defensive back DeMarkus Acy. He checks in at 6-foot-, 170-pounds from Dallas (Texas) Wilmer-Hutchins H.S. Acy has released a top six of Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Kansas and SMU.

Charlie Strong and the rest of the defensive staff have done an outstanding job of identifying, evaluating and recruiting defensive backs since they arrived in Austin. Demarkus Acy is a three-star safety attracting a lot of attention.

-edit-

Texas has done a fantastic job recruiting Demarkus Acy.

”Texas is one of those programs that anybody can't just make it in there, so you have to be one-of-a-kind to be even be mentioned in the Longhorn label,” Acy said.
“Charlie Strong is very laid back with me and I like the message he's sending to the STATE of Texas. I've been in contact with Vance Bedford and coach [Chris] Vaughn.”

What will the fans see when they watch Acy play football?

”They will see a guy who's playing at 500mph all the time and most the important thing to me is winning, so I show a lot of emotion on the field,” Acy said.

Acy said the most important thing to him is winning so I guess that knocked Texas out.
