Okwuegbunam: "I hear from Coach Bollman weekly"

Sean Scherer - Aug 26, 7:55 AM

One of final pieces in Michigan State's 2016 recruiting figures to be another tight end to pair with Cincinnati St. Xavier's Noah Davis, who committed in April.

In June, Springfield (Ill.) Sacred Heart Griffin tight end Albert Okwuegbunam had a very impressive camp at Michigan State.

Okwuegbunam ran a 4.54 40-yard dash, jumped 9'9" for the broad jump and picked up an offer from the Spartans. Okwuegbunam has kept in touch with Michigan State tight end coach Jim Bollman and could be back in East Lansing soon.

"I hear from Coach Bollman weekly," Okwuegbunam said. "At this point, I'm not sure if I'm visiting for the Oregon game."

Thanks for the articles but we can't copy the whole things here. Can you keep the link and trim them down?

Watching the chasm drop-off from Marcus Murphy to what we have now, I wouldn't be opposed to offering a truly elite return specialist a scholarship and then trying to coach him up as a DB, WR or RB.

We have one. He just broke his ankle in fall camp.

We need someone besides stonehands culkin out there..

Sean Culkin (6'6, 245, Jr.) -- 13 targets, 11 catches, 97 yards (7.5), 1 TD

'ol stonehands culkin is far and away our best receiver this year.

Being two hours from home and playing with a bunch of high school teammates wouldn't be too bad either!

This is just one play but apparently Thomas went off for 200 yards in his last game.

He's the type of big play receiver or skill player that Mizzou needs even though we have Wingo and barely uses him. I'm not trying to say Wingo is just as good, but he is a speedy big play waiting to happen.

Don't know how up to date it is, but Taylor is leading Hinds team in INT's. Also seems to be the punt returner for them.

Looks like 4* MS safety Zaire Jones has put us in his Top 3.

Has an awesome name. I think Richard Roundtree played the role of Zaire Jones and Pam Grier was his lady in the 70s classic.

Wonder if we can get back in on Chris Clark? He's transfering from UCLA and I seem to remember we were somewhat in play with him last cycle. No 2 TE from last years class.

Looks like he' gonna appeal the Michigan block, so you know his hearts set at going to Michigan.

In Illinois to watch Belleville West vs @Football_Flyers. Jeff Thomas had 2 REC for a little over 80 YDS and a TD on the first drive.

Jeff Thomas catches a 50ish yard TD on ensuing ESL drive. Failed 2 point try. 28-20 Belleville West with 1:43 left in 3rd.
