Mizzou did offer Scales before BAMA did.
He just didn't want to play the position (DE) that the coaches saw him at.

What would have pissed me off as a parent if it were my child is being told "Yeah, we're going to offer you." followed up by "Ummmm, well, that offer, yeah, we don't think so. We'll review more tape and get back to ya." As a parent, even I would have been done at that point.

The Missouri coaches didn't tell him he was getting an offer at the camp. He thought he was and got disappointed when he didn't. The Bama coaches did tell him he was getting an offer and then he didn't hear back so he called them. So why didn't they get mad at the Bama coaches for lying, but did get mad when the Mizzou coaches didn't lie? The STL kids that pick a different school seem to always say the coaches didn't recruit me hard enough to get the blame off of them. Makes sense to me why they do it and the coaches are not allowed to comment.

Meh, who cares really? Ship has sailed. We'll go find a cricket player from Zimbabwe who is 230 lbs and runs a 4.5. We shall do what we do.

Scales, Thompson, and Williams are the only 3 in state kids I really care about this year. Those 3 I think can be really good in college.

Mizzou coaches do this every year to most recruits that come to junior day. Why is he different?

"The STL kids that pick a different school seem to always say the coaches didn't recruit me hard enough to get the blame off of them."

I don't know if it's to shift the blame or simply an ego thing built by so many people telling them they're the greatest. But there does seem to be something to 314 kids demanding to be treated like they are the #1 player in the country at their position when they may not even be the top player in the state.

There have been a couple that got away (and made noise like this) that would have been nice to have, but there have been many more that were never heard from while riding the bench wherever they went.

Don't want to start a new thread...has anyone heard why Skylar Thompson didn't receive an offer. He seemed to perform very well at camps, got bumped up to 4 star. Was he not interested in Mizzou? Is there any rumblings about him?

We will return all our QB's next year and this is supposed to be a smaller class is the reasoning I heard. Personally I would have liked to take him but i can see why the coaches passed.

That's fine but don't expect me to send my kid there after you told him an offer was coming and then tell him you need to see more tape. Especially if he has other solid offers on the table. That's just the risk each program runs and I get it.

Might be a smaller class but they still have to take a QB in it.

I know Arkansas passed on him even after he had been to camps and worked out personally for our staff. This was at a point too when he most likely would have committed the second we offered. Clearly both of our staffs saw something they didn't like.

Not sure how much preseason HS rankings are worth, but Ladue's ranked 7th in the state in class 5. I don't know any of their players.

But Reedus, they reviewed the tape and then offered him to play their premier position coached by the best position coach in the country. Why is that a bad thing?

Why is it a bad thing to be told I want to marry you then told no, let me run a credit check first only to be told again ok I'll marry you now? If ya don't see the problem with that then I'm not sure what else I can say. If it were my kid I would have sent him to Bama or wherever too.

My last words on it because Scales ain't anywhere close to making or breaking this class. I just think it's bad form and hope it don't cost us more of an pact player down the road

Tre Bryant breaks a tackle, loses a shoe and scores a 32 yard TD. CBC leads Hickman 30-7 with 1:58 in the 1st. #stlpreps #mopreps

More than Scales, I wish we would have shown this kid more love. Long touch down run without a shoe reminds me of someone. Any of you guys know how Hickman is supposed to be this year? Seems CBC is picking up where they left last year.
