Does anyone know where Baldwin and Baham project to play if they stick with their commitments? With 3 other DB's already and no WR's, I'm curious if they project at WR at all.

All I've read is that Baham would play WR. Hopefully he makes it here. I'm sure the staff doesn't love his comments of late in regards to offers that have not come yet.

Baldwin is LB, Baham is a WR. You double check in Dave Matter's articles when they committed.

Baham seems like a me-first thug. Sorry. Said it.

He doesn't seem like a Mizzou-family guy.

I'm getting a little annoyed with our desperation to build relationships in the southeast by taking guys just for the sake of building relationships and growing recruiting areas.

I understand the philosophy, but think we've overdone it the last few years.

I really doubt the coaches are taking kids just to build relationships.

Coaches have 1 goal and that's too win. GP seems to have done a great job of that the last 10 years. Really have to go back to the '60's to have a period of success similar to what GP has done the last 10 years.

He definitely doesn't strike me as all in on Mizzou.

I hear ya but it seems to me some of these guys could have been had down the road if other options didn't pan out. Some of these early recruits remind me more of 2 years ago when we were coming off of the bad year and less less like last year.

And winning requires building relationships in the southeast.

You don't have to agree that they've been overdoing relationship building -- but there is no doubt that they've been extending offers to guys they otherwise might not for the sole purpose of building relationships and a rapport in the southeast.

Bryant to ksu. Not unexpected, just passing it on.

I trust the staff but this cycle as a whole just is making me scratch my head.

Well, in an article on the ksu website he said it was very important that he was the only RB ksu was taking. He wanted to be the only back in the class and he wanted to play right away, which apparently ksu told him he could. Mizzou has Strong already committed and a full stable of backs already on the roster. He doesn't seem to want to fight too hard for a spot.

Also, he stated that Thompson and Warmack convinced him to go to ksu, just funny those other 2 Missouri kids were recruiting him so hard.

You have to be at least a 4 star to request no other commitments at your position.

If that's true, then a place like kState suits him better.

If they are taking Baham (and putting up with his shite) that means they think he can play. Simple as that.

It could be that simple.

But it could also be as simple as -- this guy can play, he's from an area we're trying to break into, so we'll put up with his nonsense despite him not fitting into the mold we've built because we really need to build relationships in the southeast.

He's a case that can play.

I think offers to guys like Ish and maybe some of these WR's (think we took a brother of a good player from TN), and even the DB from Rock Bridge -- might have alternative motives such as getting a teammate, or a relative, or building a relationship in a new region. *But maybe not. Just saying, feels like that could be the case sometimes.

Nothing builds relationships and opens doors quite like winning.

The Mizzou coaches mentioned all the doors that had been closed that opened up just by getting to the SEC title game.

I can't think of any players off the top of my head from the southeast that seem like throwins in the last 2-3 classes.

A lot of us thought that Charles Harris was just a thowin when he signed, now he is set to be one of the leaders of what should be a very good defense.

I seriously doubt it. Maybe if GPs program was still in fledgling stage, but we aren't.

I understand under normal circumstances a program that is firing on the cylinders Mizzou is on right now wouldn't be taking guys for the sake of what may come in the future.

But we're in a new conference that requires building new relationships across an entire region.

I guess we disagree.

For whatever reason, I get the same feeling about him that we had with that WR from that Texas HS that shut it's doors and he pulled his commitment at the last minute for I think LSU but ended up not qualifying.
