Hadn't seen this posted before, but in a PM article in Nikko, he had hip surgery after the season, hopes to be back to running in June and back to full strength by the Italy trip in August, not that we expected much from him before, but seeing how hip injuries have effected our FB players, I'm not optimistic.

He was ranked lower as a recruit than all of the 2016 class.

ESPN had him 3rd in the state and graded out just above Van Leer.

We're getting Dembele though. So it should be ok.

Did the article say what his hip injury was? Not all hip problems cause the same level of concern.

Here's what it said:

quote:

Nikko has been on the shelf the past few weeks after getting minor hip surgery on an injury that affected his range of motion. He played through his high school season with the problem and said it didn’t really affect his play until midway through the year.

The current plan is for Nikko to be running in early June when he steps foot on campus and while he couldn’t predict an exact date for his return, he said he thinks he’ll be back to full strength by late July or early August.

Weightlifting has been a big part of Nikko’s physical therapy and while he hasn’t been able to do a full workout, but he is still doing upper body lifting in the meantime. He said he’ll still be able to participate in some of the Tigers’ summer workouts and weightlifting program.

We basically have Eron Gordon locked up and then we say no? Get rid of Woods or the JUCO player who's best highlight was an inbound pass. I was KA biggest supporter on here but I'm done.

He's a slow flat footed big man. His ceiling is Ricardo Ratliffe if we are lucky.

Ratliffe was a very good college player. Played below the rim, but was great at scoring on the interior despite his size and averaged over 6 rebounds both seasons.

Also trying to get involved with this guy. Honestly it seems like we're scrambling right now, apparently the staff was caught very off guard by the Dembele commitment.

How were they caught off guard? I knew he wasn't coming here and I have nothing to do with the process. Also that guy looks more alex oriakhi. Which I'll take

He has a reputation of not playing hard all the time. That's the biggest knock against him. Would be more ready to play from day 1 physically.
Perhaps the staff can use all 3 freshmen big men and Woods as a rotation at Center.

Johnson is a wing. At 6'6 and 170, that wouldn't really fill the need for more size. Jackson the wing recruit in this class is the same height, but weighs about 40 lbs more.

I'm talking about the JJ from Louisiana. He's 6'7 small forward. Just signed with SLU.

Yea he's a wing. A position that Mizzou already has 2 guys in Barnett and Jackson. Mizzou is wanting size in the form of a true big man.

Porter SR to Washington to work for Romar. Kiss what little chance we had at Porter Jr goodbye.
