Why didn't Arky pursue Smith?

They are depleted in numbers last I looked. Kapita is adios. So I'm curious why Arky wouldn't have offered him.

Arkansas did offer him. Along with Ok State and Creighton.

Why do you continually post incorrect information? Real talk.

Yes, Arky offered. They didn't really go after him (at least according to their fans). They said if Arkansas wanted him, he'd have committed.

Didn't see it on rivals and asked on the arky board. It's possible they're all wrong. Or not.

They didn't go after him because he did basically nothing in AAU all summer. Hes way too skinny and weak to play at the P5 level right now and will need to add a lot of strength and weight before be can contribute. Midmajor caliber player who most P5 schools have cooled on, its not hard to see he was a reach.

Arky's offer wasn't comitable. Same as no offer in my book. He was a backup plan for them.

Smith's best offer had to be Wichita State. They really only came into the picture the last few weeks.

If Smith can gain 30 lbs and maintain his athleticism this will be a good pickup. His nothing more than a bit player his freshman year. The only target that projects to be more than that is Bam. Even Cook wasn't going to be a difference maker as a freshman, outside of 4-5 he has no offense.

Going to be really sad when we actually miss Rosburg for his size.

If not, then it's hard to see KA being let go. Rhodes can then make a splashy hire, that top 100 players might like.

Jackson highlights. Seems like a wing that likes to get to the rim. Vast majority just dunks on this particular film.

Gabe's write up on Jackson with a better highlight film IMO.

Better if getting to the rim. Not the best handling the ball in a half court set. Before Tigersessssssssed jumps me for saying that, it was some scout's opinion, not mine. If true, and watching the tape, seems a bit like a Teki type of player.

Matter on Jackson.

quote:

"He's a tenacious rebounder," Joyce added. "He's more of a put-back guy. He'll make shots, but his skill level has to get better. He's the kind of kid that has the work ethic that once he gets in the program he's going to work at it. ... He's OK on the perimeter offensively, but he's just not as polished as some other guys that might come in. But at the end of the day — and he's a four-year guy — you’re going to be excited that you got him.

From his AAU coach.
