Not here to fan the flames, but if the FBI is involved it is a big deal.

The FBI has investigated steroid use in baseball in the past focused on individuals. Its a big deal and not a big deal depending on how it plays out. If its an employee that did this on their own how is that any different than an individual player that was involved in steroids? Or drug offenses? Or how about illegal inter state gambling? Did the Reds "cheat" or was it just Pete Rose? How does that reflect on the organization? You dont hear cries of "The Giants cheated" in regards to Barry bonds, you here "Bonds broke the law and or cheated." How is this any different if it was a low level employee acting on their own? Now if it was know about at high levels of the organization then that's a whole different story.

Penalty wise, no it wouldn't be a big deal but the damage to the Cardinal image was done when the story came out. Facts really don't matter.

This is what I was driving at in my post. There has already been damage done to the organization to an extent. Does it or will it be serious enough to effect the team level? I think to a point it might, but that depends on how far the FBI goes and what they find. If you got a couple guys swearing upper management has knowledge of this, I think it could be a set back, it becomes more serious of matter as it could implicate criminal charges. That would be a whole nother puddle of mud the organization gets drug through. Whether or not it was just one or two individuals who acted.

Meh. Not if it plays out the way it has been. Haters are going to hate regardless. They'll just use this topic as the source of their hate until they move onto the next reason to hate.

What if JQ, we find out that the leak came out through deadspin and the Cardinal's organization are the ones who contacted the FBI or the Astros and said "Hey, we think this might have been someone from within our organization" and got the whole investigation going?

But Martin also told the Post-Dispatch this afternoon: "I am 100 percent confident that these concerns do not touch upper management and specifically John Mozeliak and Bill DeWitt."

Sounds like upper management wasn't involved at least.

No way Cards management had anything to do with this. If they would have even sniffed that this went on they would have fired the shite out of everyone of those guys. The truth is Dewitt and Mo run a very tight ship, this was probably the secret work of a couple individuals to embarass Luhnow.

The blowback for the team will be minor, maybe we get fined or something. But if the investigation reveals that no information was used by the Cardinals and was strictly sent to deadspin for public image defecation of Luhnow, your looking at a couple idiots getting sued or going to jail.

Lunhow said in an interview he changed passwords when he went to the Astros.Mozeliak said he and DeWitt endorsed him for the Astros GM job as well.

Well, really depends which passwords he changed. If he "copied" or "cloned" the software from the Cardinals, the root passwords may still have been the same. His user passwords may have been different, but he probably didn't change the master/root/admin passwords.

Lunhow seems like a really bright guy.Would have thought he would have been smart enough to change all his passwords when he left so his software wouldn't be hacked.

Nice to finally see this offense break out for a dozen runs last night after a long drought.I don't think Reynolds should be playing every day.Would like to see Scruggs get some at bats there.Garcia also called up.Harris and Easley back to Memphis.

I'm interested to see Scruggs.

Might give us some quick runs if he gets a shot.

He's not an everyday guy, but he's got some pop.

Scruggs plays, 2-5 with RBI.Grichuk goes yard twice.Lackey has to be the best bargain in MLB this year.Offense explodes for 10 runs.Rosenthal back too.

I'm gonna say this, and it's hard for me, and I hope it doesn't comeback to bite me in the arse...

Mike Matheny has figured it out and is the best manager in the National League.

I've scoured this guy with a greenie weenie for the last 3 years, but he gets it now. I finally like the finished product.

He still refuses to dump Kozma, and maybe there more to that deal, but besides that, I have no qualms with this guy. He uses his pitchers pretty well, he knows how to use his relievers, and he has used his bench like a genius so far.

I watch a lot of Dodgers, Angels, and Padres games out here, and let me tell you, Mike Matheny is on another level compared to his peers Mattingly, Scioscia, and whoever the Padres are plugging along with. Pat Murphy or some shite.

Anyway, I'm happy.

I wouldn't say he's the best in the NL, but he's done a good job so far.He still plays Jay too much for my liking.I wish Jay was traded last year when he still had value.

I don't know why Kozma is still on the team.I'd rather see Garcia play at this point.

Another win tonight. That is 4 in a row.Who would have thought Garcia would come back from the dead, and pitch just as well as Wainwright.Just hope he can stay healthy.Bullpen has been great too.

Never much doubt about Garcia's ability. What has surprised me so far is him staying healthy. When healthy, he has top of the rotation stuff.

So the Cardinals may be pretty good this year from what I hear.
