Who would win? I saw this on Gabe's chat this week and he seemed to brush it off as the 07 team would blow them out. I completely disagree. The 07 team did have Chase, and an overall better group of skill players (although 13 had very good skill players too). The difference in the game though imo would be on the lines. The 13 team had a ton of NFL players on both lines and was vastly superior in that respect.

I agree. The game would come down to running the ball and TOs. The 2013 squad was better at both.

07 team had more true studs on offense and the defense was pretty good, also.

The 69-70 team was also awesome with Mel Gray, Joe Moore(rb drafted in 1st rd. by the Bears to take Gale Sayers place),qb Terry McMillan and Staggers(one of the top return men in college football)

Late 70's team with qb Phil Bradley(ended up playing baseball with the Mariners and was pretty good) Kellen Winslow(NFL Hall-of-Fame)rb James Wilder(great NFL career with the Buccaneers) best secondary in college football featuring Eric Wright who had a great career with the 49ers, ol Howard Richards(nice career with the Cowboys) wr Leo Lewis(nice career with the Vikings)

Im tired!

Better Offense:

Starting QB: 2007

RBs: 2013

WRs: 2007

O-Line: Even

Offensive Edge: 2007

Better Defense:

I think the 2013 team wins every category.

If they went head to head I would pick the 2013 team in a close game.

I'd take the 13 team.

That SEC schedule had them battle tested, I still think they take the FSU team easily if Steck doesn't Steck.

07 was great, but OU handed it to them twice.

I'd take the 13 team because of the defense.

I believe the 13 team could stop the 07 team, while I don't know if the reverse is true. If the 13 team had chase I'd say we would have been undefeated

Definitely disagree with the OL being even. The 13 team had 4 guys go on to, not just make a team, but start in the NFL.

The 13 team would have a tough time covering the recivers of 07 but chase would be all banged up by the half from the inevitable 4 sacks. (I hate even thinking that)

13 had tougher schedule. SEC>big12.

13 wins

13 with Chase wins it all.

In 2013 the SEC East was down and we lost to an average S. Carolina team and couldn't stop Auburn's offense in the Championship game with our defense.

Mizzou lost to Okie twice in 2007 but played them tough in each lost. Plus the B12 has held its own against the SEC in the last 10 years.

Run Temple and Washington on the 2013 defense and open up the field for all those 2007 stud receivers or vice versa.

SCAR was Top 5 and a seasoned team.

Auburn was Auburn.

13 was a better squad overall, better depth than 07 for sure.

QB - '07 - Not even a debate.
WR - '07 - Not close again
RB - '13 - Don't think much debate especially if looking at depth
TE - '07 - Again not close
OL - '13 - I almost called this a push but I think '13 gets the edge

DL - '13 - Sam and Ealy are tough to edge out but '07 wasn't that far behind
LB - '07 - Pretty close IMO and my love of Weatherspoon may be slanting my opinion
DB - '13 - Was thinking a push here with William Moore and Gaines cancelling each other out, though different positions, but I think overall, '13 had a better defensive backfield.

I don't know who would win but I'd buy a ticket. Those talking about the '07 offense and WR's, you're probably including them but don't forget that also includes Coffman and Rucker.

Like others have said, Chase's offense with the '13 defense probably wins a natty.

My bad on the S. Carolina team. I was looking at the 2007 team which was bad.

The media had a vote on which team would win and the fans picked the 07 team. Both teams were fun to watch.

The 07 team couldn't win a natty with Chase, so why do some think the 13 team would have won a natty with him.

13 was the better team, and their offense pretty much lit up every team but Scar.
If they knew how to stay home on defense they would have beaten Auburn and then FSU

quote:

WR - '07 - Not close again
I don't see how.
07 had Maclin as a redshirt freshman.
13 had Sasser, Hunt, DGB, L'Damian Washington, and Lucas. I think it's 13 easily.

I honestly think the 13 team was good enough to win a NC. They just didn't. I don't think I can ever forgive Steckel for the Auburn game. That still stings when I think about it.

I never got that feeling with the 07 team. They were incredibly fun to watch and it was a great team, but after the second half of the Big 12 title game I didn't feel like we let one get away. I felt like we lost to a clearly superior team.

I think Steck would find a way to lose with either, if it was the conference championship game.

2007 LSU was one of the worst national champions of all time. They barely beat 10-4 Tennessee in the CCG and lost to 8-5 Kentucky and 8-5 Arkansas.

2007 Mizzou lost to an Oklahoma team twice that lost to a garbage 6-7 Colorado that Mizzou beat by 40 and lost by 20 to West Virginia. Kansas was #2 when we beat them but they didn't play a ranked team the entire fricking year. Kansas was a marginal top 10 team at best. It was the most exciting game I've ever watched but that's the truth.

2013 Mizzou would beat 2007 Mizzou by 2 TDs. That defense would've shut down that offense. Under Steckel, Mizzou struggled much more with teams with a strong running game vs. a strong passing game. Tony Temple was really nothing special. James Franklin was a baller and is so under appreciated for what he did.

2007 Mizzou gets so much praise because it was the first time we were relevant in the National Championship discussion since the 60's. 2013 Mizzou was the more legit team and was favored to beat Auburn in the SEC CCG and for good reason.

I'll probably get dogged out for this, but I think that the late 70's team doesn't get the recognition they deserved because of the losses they ended up with. That was a great team, but when you play USC, Notre Dame, Alabama, Ohio St, etc. in your nonconference games and then turn around and play conference games against great teams back then like Nebraska and Okie and end up 7- or 8-3 that's saying something. They would beat the blue bloods often and then come back and lose to Iowa St. and Kansas.

Who would get the nod on Special Teams- place kicking, punting, and punt and kick returns?
