I love talking about how great our offense is. From the run attack to the never ending supply of WRs. Dak's much improved passing!

However, let's address the secondary. Obviously we allow the long ball, but in a short field teams struggle against us.

Will Collins adapt, pulling the best from both defenses to form a beast 1st string defense and sub in players rather than groups... all in an effort to shut down Bama and Ole Miss. OR does he continue to allow the big shots deep in hopes to bend and not break.

We'll be fine. We obviously can get away with playing the 1B's a lot against UK and probably will do the same against Arky at UTM...

We will get the 1A's alot more snaps against Bama when we put it all on the line...

Really hasn't seemed to be a problem in our bigger games thus far. I'm just glad it hasn't bit us in the arse.

The big drive lsu had in the first quarter was on the 1bs.

If we can get away with it. Do it. It only helps for next year.

The only concern I have outside of that is game condition, stamina. If we needed the 1a group on the field for the bulk of the game, do they have the gas?

Great to only have 2 concerns!!! Lol.

Redmond doesn't need to come out of the game as far as I'm concerned

How many points have we given up in the 4th Q this year?

I would be very surprised if more than a couple of teams have given up more than we have.

Agree 100% legit and needs to stay on the field.

I have not heard much out of Hughes.

I'd just like to also acknowledge fellow McCombite Deontay Evans had a good game. Nice to see the other underclassman making plays.

McCombite... McCombian... McComber... whatever.

I'm thinking the mindset for UK was just like it was early in the year. We are going to beat them so let's rotate guys to keep them fresh/get experience/avoid injury etc.

We'll probably see the same this weekend against Arky, but when we head to Tuscaloosa it will be all 1-A.

According to Muffin:

Mullen says "1-B" defense gave up twice as many yards and points in half as many plays as the "1-A" defense against UK.

Muffin / Collins:

They can do whatever they like regarding the rotations but there's a ton of people that will go ape shite if we lose because of it.

Without sounding like too much of a homer...I don't think that Mullen was very worried about scoring on Kentucky.

These subs are going to hopefully result in having a fresher defense than Alabama/Ole Miss. Gives next years players some experience, and gives our coaches a chance to evaluate our players in real games instead of just practice.

Or maybe it is just a bad idea. I don't know.
