-Captain Edward J. Renolds is the greatest pirate hunter of all time.

- Ole Miss is not winning in Starkville

-We're going to lose on the plains by less than 7 points probably due to bad 4th quarter play calling.

- We're going to pants LSU on national television

-Buga's girlfriend has been under more State defensive players than Leonard Fournette during 34-29

I like this, go ahead and get it all out before the season.

I've been thinking about provisional melting just to get any bad vibes out before the dawgs kick off.

Pretty sure Dak spent the offseason sitting on his throwing hand.

Game should've been secure at half.

I'm done bitching. It's a W and I should be happy.

Shows where we have came in the last 5 years if I'm bitching about a W

Either Southern Miss improved massively since last year or we are garbage. Dak looked bad, our special teams looked bad (good fg kicker), and our secondary will get torched all season long. Dan is also still subbing in the second team defense for no good reason.

I'll be happy with 6 or 7 wins this year.

This^^^

The only thing I'm not worried about is Dak looking like shite tonight. That is an anomaly.

O-line- I'm not sure we can run block against anyone better than USM this year. I mean, I hope we can, but I'll have to see it to believe. The LT spot should be up for grabs now.

D-line- Performed about how I figured it would if it were against a conference opponent. Not USM! Big trouble here! Big trouble next week! Jefferson is clearly above the rest and the rest are way too slow to be able to pressure Harris whatsoever.

Pass defense- Discombobulated, lost and Cleveland needs to transfer. I'd mix Peters and McLaurin in next week, nothing to lose.

Receiver- Bear with one catch..nuff said. This group was tested tonight and shouldn't have been TE- Walley and Johnson were a nice surprise and important to actually getting the win.

RB- Shump does his assignments, but is probably our #2 or #3 guy. I expect D Lee and Williams to have more snaps than originally planned against LSU.

MVP's were Holloway,Graves,and Jefferson.

LSU game- No comment

We know that shumpert is not a great back, just like i have been trying to tell everyone for a while now.

We know that tolando cleveland sucks, just like I have been telling yall for a while now.

We know that muffin is gonna play market over more deserving personnel.

Things that stuck out to me. Shump looked considerably faster than last season. We barely targeted DeRunnya, which may have been planned. WR'a need to take some laps for dropping balls. Ryan Brown is playing well, AJ is going to rack up a ton of stats because of the job Brown is quietly doing on the other side. Chris Jones isn't messing around this year. We really need Calhoun healthy. Clayborn is a beast, Rufus needs work but looked to have really settled in as the game went on. First and last drives were great, everything in between looked horribly vanilla, reminded me of UAB last year. Their turf is garbage.

We won't play that poorly again, hard to do worse, and got out with a 34-16 win on the road. Southern has improved a ton, that's pretty easy to see. I'll reserve judgement for post LSU.

ETA: Oh, forgot to mention, Cooke's long arse punt had so much hang time that the defender literally beat the ball there and caught it in the air.

Things that scare me are: secondary (I though tolando cleavland transfered for some reason), we missed to many tackles.
I think we can fix the dropped balls, the oline looked pretty weak considering it was southern miss, but I think they will gel as the season goes on. I also think that dak's game last night was an anomaly.

The dline and lb's was good and if we get the missed tackles fixed I think Harris will have to beat us with his arm. Which I don't think he can do. At least Calhoun will be back for lsu.

The sheer beauty of this is about 90% of LSU fans on this site can't remember just how capable of a road game derp their team is.

9 o'clock road game. Ugh. I hated playing night games on the road, and none of them started later than 7:30. It is pretty hard doing nothing all day on the road. Trust me on that one. It is way easier to do nothing when you are at home.

Only 2 of 12 road favorites covered this weekend.

It looked like the field was wet. Had it rained? Also, the humidity was 92%. I know it is the same for both sides, but sweat would explain some of the misses.

I was impressed with USM last night. We know that Monken knows offense, and it was evident that he is getting some guys in his system that can pull it off. They should do well in C-USA this year.

I think their defense confused us some. They didn't play at all like we thought they were going to play. They had probably spent 8 months prepping for this game.

Also... anyone that doesn't know how big that game was for USM needs a history lesson.

USM wanted a head on a platter. Winning that game would be cornerstone to recruiting and fast tracking back to relevancy.

It wasn't wet it's just shitty turf. I honestly attribute part of the muffed punt to it, even though he should have gotten the hell out of the way, no business touching that ball.
