What are your thoughts on Maurice Linguist? Our 247 site is reporting that we're hiring him as our DB coach. I'm going to assume you guys don't like him based off your pass defense this year but I figure I'll ask anyway.

He's being given time to find a job from what I understand.

Not sure how I feel about this at this point. On one hand I'd like to see some stability in the defensive coaching staff but on the other hand I would like to see someone come in and do things differently. If change is coming, hope we either have a defensive mercenary coming in who can turn some things around quickly:

Or someone crappy with some name recognition who can land some good recruits for the next guy who comes through the door:

I'm getting a keg and attempting to drink it in one sitting if we hire Rob Ryan.

So would I but not with hot garbage. There is no reason with our defensive starters last season we should have been that dreadful.

Ehhh, we literally didn't have capable CB's. Peters asked to swap to help the team, like a week before the season, and was pretty much immediately our best CB.

That's what I figured. Thanks for your honesty. I'll now melt appropriately in the event that it does happen.

The reason our starters were that dreadful was due lack of motivation and teaching. The DC's principal job.

We were literally one of the worst pass defenses in D1 ball. That couldn't be on lack of talent.

There was a lack of hustle to get to the ball and make tackles. I hope like hell that new coaches can change that attitude.

A little more depth is going to help. No hustle means no PT.
