I am always the pessimist, but this team just isn't that good. Dak can't carry the entire offense by himself, and the cupboard is bare on the defensive side of the ball.
Next year we may go 5-7.

Everywhere "but" QB is a pretty big deal when your QB has the team on his shoulders. I don't have any reason to think Fitzgerald will be bad at all based on what I have seen, but I will need to see more from the supporting cast. Will Wilson declare for the NFL this year? I certainly don't feel like we have much of a shot at 8-4 or 9-3 -- not that I would mind being dead wrong. I see next year being even more of a rebuilding year than this year. 2-3 years from now will be telling.

I got a gut feeling Nick Fitz is going to be a beast. I think Dan is going to have a Dak/Tebow/Leak recruiting pipe line, with all the residual Dak hype.
I think we will have similar problems with our o-line, though, and thus a less than optimized rushing attack.

You also have to account for everyone else rebuilding. LSU will have a new staff, A&M will A&M, Ole Miss loses their entire team...
Our losses are minuscule in comparison. And let's not kid ourselves, Fitz is going to look golden in Mullen's system. We will be fine.

Get this shite out of here. Hevesy isn't a great recruiter but the man consistently puts guys in the league or turns nobodies into something they aren't. Be careful what you wish for. We could have matt Luke as an ol coach. And Townsend is still learning. He recruits well and we have Bryant, Peters, mclaurin at safety and smitherman and stamps at cb. We'll be ok. You young pups are spoiled. I watched the Maine game live. The expectations have changed. Its a blessing and a curse.

Then you would remember the 30 plus point beat downs frown Alabama, lsu, and auburn yearly. You would remember the never winning in the state of arkansas let alone fayateville. You would remember the countless ooc losses to horrible teams. We are 8-3 in the sec in a fricking rebuilding year. We returned 7 staters combined. Two of which are lost for the year. Stop calling for coaches heads and support the team.

Agree. Our secondary has been so riddled with injuries that you can't really throw that on Townsend. It's just unfortunate.

well yeah compared to when we had two NFL'er corners in there. losing Redmond was huge. He covered and made great tackles.
In the arkansas game sometimes you just have to give credit to Allen. He had pressure all night and was still making throws. It helps when he has two huge TE too.

He was huge on a few plays. DL was really good. Coverage was bad to non-existent.
The safeties have to cover the TE's. That was not an issue with the corners. Peters and Bryant have a LOT to learn. I am glad they are getting the PT though. It will pay off down the road.
Cleveland was so lost all night. What a whiner. We would bring pressure. That means man coverage. Stop pointing at the fricking safety when you get burned.
Maybe we move Shump to safety in the off-season.
