Losing Redmond sucks but I have always thought Butch was overrated as a pitching coach.

Yeah I actually agree, but I don't know that I like a new coach coming in with spring right around the corner.
Losing Redmond is really hard to swallow though.

The timing sucks that's for sure. But baseball is the one sport where MSU can actually go out and hire a big name (for college baseball). Can't blame him for leaving for a HC position anyway.

I said like over a year ago that Butch would be leaving and they are going to tap Roy Oswalt, ex-Astros pitcher and native Mississippian. The info was given to me a looooong time ago but it's just been delayed. My guess was that Butch was waiting for an SEC position to open up like this one.

I woke up to all the bad news, walked to the freezer and pulled out some ribs. I started rubbing on them after the membrane defrosted. I cried a little, thought about the good times, laughed a little, then pulled out the apple cider vinegar. I dabbed a little here and there, then thought back to the Aub pick in the endzone this year...cried some more. Then came the brown sugar. Butch sure knew how to bring the heat, I thought, as I caramelized my ribs in a black cast iron skillet. I then finalized dry rub with blacken seasoning, cranked up some journey and slid those bad boys in the oven. I might not remember the ending of this day but I'll never forget the feeling of tearing a knee up. With sincere remorse I say, RIP Redmond. Lets hope Cleveland Rocks!

I hate to hear Redmond's out. That will really hurt us. The Butch news was to be expected eventually though.

Mother fricking this. I had no idea another Dawg could think freely enough to scratch their head when everyone talked about how great Butch is.

He managed and coached a staff that carried yall to the CWS final and Kendall Graveman was the only legit starter on your entire team... I dont think you had a starter get 18 outs that entire postseason.
Butch is badass... As an OM fan, I'm really glad he wont be the main guy recruiting arms to come play in yall's badass new park.

Yeah his development of starters left a lot to be desired. Generally had a great bullpen though.
