First post your midseason observations, then give a grade to each position group coach, and one player to breakout the 2nd half of the season.

Offense: I think Lee is the best RB we have to pair with the OL we have. Shumpert is a one cut/downhill runner, and we don't run the ball that way with this OL. Elgton Jenkins should remain the LT starter for the remainder of the season imo unless injured. I believe we screwed up Clayborn's progression moving him to center. I hate the shuffling of OL we do. To me it seems like some of the OL are regressing. They are getting pushed back every other play seems like. The WRs have been solid, a couple drops but also some good catches. Dak has been good, but could be better too. I thought we wouldn't see him miss wide open WRs this year but that may be a product of this OL

Defense:

The DL has been good early in games. The lack of depth really shows later. Jones continues to see double and triple teams, but flashes when matched up one on one. AJ Jefferson may be playing his way to an early exit. Redmond and Calhoun have been solid. Safety looks to be coming around now that we have the youth movement. LB have been OK, but may be struggling some b/c of DL

Coaches:
HC: C
OC: D-
DC: B-
OL: D
TE: C+
DL: B-
RB: C-
CB: B+
S : B
ST: C

2nd half breakout player: Donald Gray

I mean, you're 4-2 and your only losses came against two undefeated, top ten teams. I don't know what y'all were expecting, but okay.

One of those games should be a W, and the other we shite the bed in.

What should we not have been expecting?

6-0, seeing as how you've started off 6-0 three times in your entire history.

That would be a better point if two of those 6-0 starts had not happened so recently.

The LSU loss sucked...probably should have pulled that one out. A&M just beat us.

When you put it that way it makes me feel a lot better about those losses. But we want championships here. We should have beat LSU, like ENGT said TAMU just beat us.

I feel like La Tech is a trap game, Kentucky could very well beat us. Bert may pull something out as well. Bama we should make a strong showing against.

I agree with previous assessments and grades. Mullen deserves a poor marks for game management and what I believe is average play calling.

But as you say TA, out 4-2 doesn't look bad.

Y'all will beat LA Tech and Kentucky will be a tough victory, but y'all are at home with an experienced QB, so I think y'all will beat them too.

Bert is gonna give both of our teams fits, I'm afraid.

Basically, y'all should be 6-2 going into the Mizzou game and you'll likely win the Arkansas game. This means that, depending on how you play at Mizzou, against Alabama, and against us can be the difference between 10-2 and 7-5.

Two of those games are at home, one of them is against a struggling Mizzou team, and the other is a rivalry game. So, basically, congrats on the 9-3 record.

We are gonna have to play really well to beat mizzou and arky. I might even give arky the edge at their place. I feel good about kentucky. Worried a little about being flat against tech.

Moffan usually has his team ready to play, and I can appreciate that, as Freeze has famously had us get our asses whooped when we lose as of late.

I agree with the 10-2 to 7-5 range...also agree on Arky...

And if some one told me 9-3 at the beginning of the season id take that in a heartbeat.

I think most fans (myself included) didn't think we would struggle at the LOS against Troy or USM.

At this point tho, if we ended up 6-6...i wouldn't even be surprised. We have looked THAT bad at times.

I think most fans had no clue how we would do with the new line. For pass protection, they have exceeded my expectations. For run blocking, they get an F.

For RB, someone needs to dig into the JuCo ranks like we did with Ballard.

I think we're all firmly aware the 2012 7-0 start was 100% due to an absolutely atrocious schedule and not the prowess of that season's Bulldogs, so my point stands.

In that 7-0 start in 2012, you beat:
1) A SWAC FBS team
2) A 3-9 Auburn
3) A 5-7 Troy team by six points on the road
4) A 2-11 South Alabama team transitioning to the FBS level
5) A 5-7 Tennessee team with one of the worst defenses in SEC history
6) A 2-10 Kentucky team that would end up firing their coach
7) An 8-4 Middle Tennessee State team

Yeah, so my point stands, seeing as how the 2012 7-0 start was almost entirely a fraud.

Any team you played with a pulse that season beat you soundly: Alabama, A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, and Northwestern.

How does your defense compare to last season's?

Y'all getting after the passer? How is the secondary?

Approximately 3117.

We're top 100 now and six spot off of LSU or something like that.
