Manny was good, I think statistically his numbers were better than given credit for.
There are a lot of young, hungry DCs, though...so this could be an opportunity.

His defense sucked, to be honest. Bend but don't break is no longer possible against modern spread schemes.

To be fair, that is what OM did to us in the Egg Bowl...they allowed us a lot of little short passes, but nothing over the top, and then turnovers followed. On BSR they said OM "Diaz'd us."

Yep, that motherfricker would be unemployed if it wasn't for Mullen. I'm not worried about it though. Maybe now we'll actually play solid defense.

And with State only paying 1/3 to 1/2 the salary of other SEC Defensive Coordinators, why would anybody be surprised when he decides to leave ??

Are any of us really sad to see Manny go?
While I was hoping he would get us improved (particularly next year), our tackling did seem worse -- and that was a huge issue with him at Texas. At the time, I thought that was more due to Texas players and the country-club atmosphere at texas.
This is a good opportunity to get an up and coming, hungry new coach in.

I'm just not that upset. I can understand the opportunity and that he had to take it. I could be really happy somewhere, if State came calling with an opportunity for me to return home, you bet your arse I would take it.
