Meh...he is a freshman that choked. I am more bummed out about Sword. He has really not been able to handle being second fiddle.

They don't know how to close. It is that simple. Howland can't teach that.

The problem is, Howland took over a program use to losing. That's hard to overcome in just one year. You're coaching against a players mentality that says no matter what I do we lose. As a coach, I've been in those shoes. It's not easy getting players who are use to giving up when their backs are against the wall to keep pushing.

It usually takes new blood to make the transition. I was hoping Malik would rub off on them rather than the other way around.

The play that Sword tried to make was just stupid. He had the opening for the drive and then seemed to wait for the double. I don't get it.

I was hoping this wouldn't be the case this season. But Sword has definitely regressed playing second fiddle to Malik, even to Q and IJ. We still have the potential to be a decent team. It hurts that our only source of rebounding is Ware. Travis Daniels has been such a huge disappointment for me the last two years. I felt he'd be a solid role player for us.

The other thing on Sword is that last year he seemed to have developed into being a competent 3 point shooter. I remember a few games last year where he went off from the 3 point line. Now it looks like he has never shot a 3 pointer in his life. What the heck happened?

Sword definitely can't play second fiddle. It seems like in every big spot he wants to drive and loses the ball, or does something stupid.
