I agree to a certain extent but he could have had a monster year last year and just hasn't had the best start to this season. The year is still very very young. There could be plenty of reasons that he is their number 1 prospect.
ETA: I just looked up their stats. Not exactly sure what they are looking at. Renfroe looks to be far and away the better prospect. Here are their baseball reference profiles.

He's a speedy defender in CF and can cover a lot of ground. I guess the Padres are/were lacking that guy defensively. That would make him their #1. Padres have Kemp at RF which isn't as important defensively to them I suppose.
Kemp also has a ridiculous contract which I'm sure the Padres would love to get rid of by trade or something but the way he's playing, nobody will pick up that tab. So Hunter is logjammed until late summer when the Padres are out of it and they want to see what he can do.

Braves asked San Diego for Renfroe in the Upton deal back in '14. I wish that would've happened.

Margot is also in AAA at 21. Renfroe is 24. The rankings are based on potential as well as production.

Agreed. However, with the current state of the club, you would think they would give Margot a little extra time in the minors, and want to know what they have in a little bit older prospect, ASAP.
ETA: Which also doesn't have anything to do with who is ranked higher in their system. I don't have any beef with him being number 1.
