We won last night. The team we played was not a great team but we still won.

Actually I think they will end up being pretty good this year.

I think we will see a vast improvement by the end of the year. Definitely have to start getting better defensively though

Yeah I am just hoping to improve as the season goes on and possibly upset a team or two. If we have improved enough to beat Florida State we could potentially win the rest of our OOC games.

Actually, the 3 teams that we have lost to have lost a total of 3 games. That is your official ray of hope for today.

I bet Miami ends up getting to at least the sweet 16. They are really good.

That Tech win would really be nice.

Yeah the Tech win would have been nice and the Southern loss was inexcusable. The Miami loss even though it was a blow out will be considered a "good" loss.

Man...this team is much worse than I thought they would be. I wonder if Malik will come back next year. That would be one silver lining.

I don't know how none of us looked at Howland's resume and realized what was going to happen. His first year everywhere he's been is rough, and the second is meh. Then he generally wins about 30 games in year 3. Which really is backed up by this recruiting class.

Paying him to stay for 3 or 4 years will be the key here.

Well the majority of our team are low ranked guys coached for three seasons by a very bad coach. Maybe they are dragging Malik down so much he has to stay for another season.

At this rate it isn't really a question, barring a scoring explosion from him in SEC play.

I watched a good bit of the Florida State game last night.
While it ended up being a blowout we played relatively hard for about 3/4 of the game.

Fla State came out hot in the 2nd half and opened a 10pt lead. We were able to keep it around that for 5-8 mins before wilting a bit.

Our perimeter defense is pretty bad. While Ware isn't great defensively, when he is out (foul trouble) or interior defense becomes really bad. We just don't have any interior depth or size.

Our shooting is also poor -- we really rely on either getting points in transition, or getting ware setup to where he can score in the paint. that's about it.

So in summary, our perimeter defense is bad but we make up for it by having an even worse interior defense. That sounds about right.
