Should have never been taken from him to begin with. Dude was one of the most electrifying college players I ever saw.

Alabama is claiming the 1908 Title. Sure, LSU was `10-0 and Ala was 6-1-1, but nobody else claimed the title, so Bama did.

This should have already been claimed by LSU long ago

The NCAA didn't strip Bush of his Heisman. The Heisman Trophy Foundation did. The Heisman isn't awarded by the NCAA. The NCAA stripped LSU of wins.

Not sure why there was such a push for this.
He cheated at that time. The rules changing do not undo this. He is still a cheater.

Should be clear this is a bad idea when the main person pushing for it is Manziel.

Just stop!!!!!

Bush earned the Heisman on the field just like every single other Heisman winner. If you took a nice deep look into every Heisman winner I can guarantee you’d find “illegal” benefits bestowed on every single one.

You are trying to explain this to people who still don't understand that NIL money isn't coming out of LSU's bank account.

Yep. 1908 isn’t even controversial - it’s ours.

Earning the Heisman trophy on the field does not mean he did not take improper benefits/cheated. Both can be true.

I put cheating that directly affects the product on the field (PEDs in baseball, etc) in a very different category than “cheating” that has nothing to do with on field performance. Reggie earned that trophy on the field. Him getting money off the field doesn’t change that for me.

I would give a shite if those looking into these things applied it to all programs and players. Unfortunately, this was extremely commonplace for years and everyone knew it was going on. Things like the Bama players getting Dodge Chargers is still a running joke that everyone basically acknowledges as truth.

If he had cheated on the field, then I'd have a problem with him. My issue here was more on the adults in charge breaking the rules to lure recruits to their programs and those who look into such things clearly ignoring what they wanted to.

Cmon man. Taking benefits off the field is not cheating. Cheating only applies to what happens on the field (PEDS, etc.).

To say Reggie doesn’t deserve that Heisman is ridiculous, and not in the spirit of the award.
