All images are being shown as links for me

Check your settings in the upper right corner. Make sure the "display all images as links" isn't checked

I discovered that its only doing it to really old threads

That's a site feature. There's nothing on your end that needs adjusting

Edit: I don't know the exact reason, but I guess it's easier on the servers to load text links instead of images. Especially on old threads where the page views aren't as abundant.

Not sure if this is part of the issue, but it does seem after time, or after auto locks, the images are no longer viewed and only the link can be seen. I noticed this on my yearly bowling thread on the Vandy board as I wanted to use graphics from 1 year to the next, and when I went back they had been converted to links only. when I clicked on the thread to edit then hit preview they all returned, but went back to links if I hit submit.

Perhaps the folks that haunt the Fark Board may have experienced this as well and may have a better answer.
