Would you want Byron Cowart at UF?

Rumors have been swirling that he regrets his decision.

Quite frankly, I don't think I would want him at UF. It looks like UF got the better player in CeCe, while Cowart continues to act like a bitch and be a cancer.

I'd rather UF land 4-5 stud DL, which they are on their way to doing this class, and let Cowart continue to regret his shitty life decision to follow an assistant coach.

i agree. cowart's ship has sailed.

Hate to be like this, but I'd welcome him at UF. Him and Jefferson together would add even more depth and let's be real -- we're going to lose a few players to the NFL this year especially at Dline.

I'd welcome him with open arms.

Honestly, depends on the recruiting class.

If UF brings in a loaded roster of high quality DL, given what is already on the roster, why even worry about it?

it wouldn't be a bad thing, but if we have a good year i think our dline class shakes out just fine.

Definitely take other players before accepting a transfer, but that guy has a lot of talent, and working alongside his buddy Jefferson, that kind of chemistry can make things very special.

If we have space, and he wants to transfer? I say take him.

What IF he comes to UF and continues to act like a bitch? I think McElwain wouldn't put up with it, but I'm not sure Uf even considers him if they can pull Clayton and Robinson.

That's the key - space. If UF is taking highly rated guys and filling up the class, and they run out of space, I just don't know if you want to make room for a head case like this that may just flame out anyways.

that being said, you can never have too many good big pass rushers.

Well, he might not be THAT much of a head case for wanting to get the frick out of Auburn right now.

That team is in absolute shambles and what's shocking to me is he's not getting that much playing time. If he had come to Florida, he might be on the field every other play if not every down.

AU would block his transfer to an SEC school most likely. He should transfer to JC, r/s and maybe UF admin would allow him to transfer here...but he might have to stay 2 years at JC? He could choose another route...transfer to FCS school for 1 year if they would let him (most of those schools would...even if they know he is gone in a year).

I for one would overlook his decision to go AU....he was just a kid in high school. Come on. He would have to earn his way at UF or not see the field...McElwain does that with every player...what they put on practice field is what determines playing time a lot...and the players see daily sheets of their reps and where they stand. Thats the fair way to coach a team and motivate them.

Cowart is a talent and just needs the right circumstances to break out. He may well stay at AU and really do well.its hard for OL/DL players to do too much as true frosh.

i'm not saying don't take him at all, i just don't think we'll have space if we win 10 games this year.

IF we have space? why not, he worth a risk, i personally think he's eat up with regret for not coming to uf, but he shoulda come here in the first place.

And we have headcases on our team like Brantley already but it seems to be much better handled than in the past. Players aren't quitting the team because of a meathead head coach. I don't know what's going to happen, though, because I'm pretty sure our recruiting is going to be fantastic these next few years if we don't crap the bed.

I feel like with a talent like that - who hasn't been in trouble - you take a chance if he really wants to come. The more I think about it.

No. Though I do feel bad for his poor life choice.

frick Cowart, and not because he followed Chimp. It was all the dumb shite he started with the Chuckie doll and taking shots at a coach.

Not wanting him is beyond ridiculous and rather pathetic. Really? You don't want the number 1 overall player from last class with a coach like Rumph? Yea...that's brilliant thinking guys. The kid decided to follow Will. Will is a good recruiter and a great liar to the recruits. Cowart loved UF but followed the coach, not like he screwed us.

If given the chance, you take this kid. His freaky talent with our Dline coaching? That's called a top ten pick.

No one questions that. I do question his mindset when things aren't going well.

Not even halfway through the season and it appears he wants out.

Not someone the Gators should want IMO.

Blah blah, dude is an immature headcase, no reason for him to be on this team and mess with the chemistry. We will be fine without him. Kid is gonna have to learn to live with his decisions.

Auburn is pretty godawful, though, and so were we.

They're gonna be lucky to bowl this year.

Meh, I guess to that I'd say Hargreaves, Fowler, Bullard, Morrison and more could've did what Cowart is doing in 2013.

Hell we were worse than this Auburn team. But they stayed the course and didn't complain when things got tough.

With the way McElwain is going with recruiting early, I don't think we need Cowart IMO.
