Both of them had a really good spring and fall and we're excited about seeing those guys play. So we'll go ahead and do it that way. So Treon will go out and take the first snap, and then whether it's three or four series, they'll both have like we kind of talked about, they'll both have their set of first eight and move it kind of that way as we work forward.

Obviously things could still change after Saturday night, but it's seemed like it was Grier's job to lose this whole offseason from what I've read. Kinda suprised by this.

But it looks like the starter for the SEC opener hasn't been decided yet. This seems like good move to let both guys get some more reps in practice and a little game experience before truly naming a starter.

Supposedly McElwain said Treon did a better job of elevating the players around him.

After watching Treon last year and the spring game this year. Not excited about this move. As long as both players still have an opportunity early I will be fine.

Read Bill Connely's SB nation preview on Florida.

Once Treon took over the team played much better.

Maybe he had nothing to do with it, but the team just seemed to play better for him.

I think they'll both get an opportunity. Treon might be the better athlete but I'm not sold on him as a passer.

I don't get the move but maybe Grier can out play him and take the starting job by the time we start SEC play. It's a rebuilding year , we should play the QB that gives us the best chance to win in the future . I can't remember the last team to win a national championship with a short QB , let alone one thats not a good passer. Or win the SEC besides Auburn 2 years ago.

Does this mean the players play harder for Treon or that Treon is a better leader? Hopefully it isn't race issues. LSU dealt with that before...

I don't think it has to deal with race.

I think Driskel just time and time again had huge meltdowns on the field and the team just lost hope.

Race didn't really matter in that case.

And Grier and Harris are both liked in the locker room, based on what the media reports.
