Wasn't Calloway working out on his own?
Still, this WR group will be the best we've had since 2008.

Yea two pages! Must add that our TE situation looks better as far as depth...we will throw to TEs and RBs a lot and it its easy to see from spring game that McElwain wants ball thrown quickly.
I think McElwain is very offensive minded and has ways to beat teams by keeping us on the field. With all the question marks surrounding the team on offense and the lack of experience on the OL...we pulled off early feats. To finish 13th in rushing in the SEC and still go the SECCG is quite the coaching job.
Im going out on a limb and predict UF to finish no worse than 4th or fifth in rushing stats and still have our defense as stingy as usual. McElwain has the luck of the Irish and must eat Lucky Charms for breakfast.

You really think that offense is going to average over 37 ppg this fall?
Posted on 7/18/16 at 9:11 pm to HinesvilleThrill
I'd say 30 is likely. 37 seems a bit high.
Posted on 7/20/16 at 4:13 pm to boXerrumble
No we wont avg 37...thats high...but 30 is possible and the main thing is we still have a lot of Muschamps defense along with McElwains offense....it makes me optimistic. Again, this is what makes college football so damn good...the unknowns and the unexpected.
Injuries can wipe the board clean...as in 2013. Never saw so many freaking serious injuries. Two key players can change things fast.

I am predicting a minimum of 10 wins. We have what should be 7 slam dunks. Then Ark, UG, Vo12s, LSwho, FSUcks
We will win a minimum of 3 of those 5. Maybe 4, maybe all 5.
I predicted 10 wins last year if the pieces fell into place and think that this years team is better particularly on offense and special teams.
So why not?

People do underestimate how badly the kicking game hurt Florida.
Look at the FSU game as an example - with a decent kicker UF lines up from the 20 for a FG and UF goes up 3-0. Even if it does end up being 10-3 late in the half a good kicker nails that FG at the end of the half to only be down 10-6.
Later on, it's 13-6 when another bad FG hits an arm pit.
Should be 13-9 at that point. After a safety it's 13-11, and it's anyone's game.
All because of a bad kicker. Even if one of those FG's was missed it's still 13-8. One score game. Even with Treon Harris at QB.

Preaching to the choir here. I've been screaming to get an ace kicker since 2012 when we knew Sturgis was leaving.

The real savior last year was our defense...our run game was mediocre at best and finishing 13th in SEC rushing tells it all...its a miracle that McElwain was able to overcome it...but defense and punting helped a lot to keep us in games.
The lack of a really good run game resulted in a lot of third and longs...partly because our OL was so young and then QB issues led to defenses stopping our run game and daring us to throw.
Mark Thompson and our two sophs will change all that with a more efficient OL. Keeping defenses guessing is so damn important and third and eight doesnt give them a mystery to solve. Make a note...Mark Thompson will be getting media attention this year. He doesnt like to be tackled and will give that effort that only special backs possess. Im buying Thompson stock full boat.
Punting and place kicking will be the best tandem in the SEC.

Wow, lots of words.

10-2 with losses against UT ( ) and LSU.
I don't think UT will anything great this year, but these last 2 years the football gods have been fortunate to us (one of the worst kickers in UF history making a 50 yard FG in 2014 and the 4th downs in 2015). I think we will be the better team at the end of the season, but will lose a really close game early on in Knoxville.
ETA: I predicted 8-4 last year

I have a sneaky feeling we lose to Tennessee but somehow make it to Atlanta.

Everyone needs to watch some of UTs games from last year. I have watched several and one thing is CLEAR...Dobbs is way over rated as a QB.....great athlete but crappy passer.
Our defense last year thought too highly of his passing skills instead of keeping him inside the pocket and he hurt us with his feet. If we stop the run, UT will struggle a lot and if he throws 35 passes or more we win. Even IF we lose...UT will trip up at least twice in the SEC.
I got 11-1 and I dont think LSU is a L at all...look at the series history and you will see there are no long win streaks...and they are coming to our house. It will be an epic battle and our special teams win it. Fast Eddie nails 50+ FG to stab them in the heart.

I just wanna see the TigerRant meltdown after a loss in Gainesville.
I've never seen LSU fans so confident about a 100% lock that LSU is to win.

TigerRant melts are right up there with VolNation melts.

I don't blame them though. They should be really good this year, they're loaded.

There are a few wise and older LSU fans that know they stand a good chance of losing this year in the Swamp...its just the way the series has evolved and they cant continue to escape the Swamp with TE dropping passes wide open in the end zone with under two minutes to play or have Miles pull one out his arse.
They cried like babies when they lost in 2012 and though the score was 14-6...we dominated them and Gillislee ran over them in second half when the sun melted them on the east sidelines....the kitty defense was exhausted.
Now the bigger question...3 pages?

That 2012 game... My god...
That was the hottest, muggiest, football game I've ever been too.
People were sweating and passing out like flies.
And I was still screaming my arse off the whole time. I think it was the first time I brought my uncle with me to a UF game and he was shocked at how loud I was

LSU will be excellent but we have hung in there pretty good with them the last few years. I think we pull it off at home.
I can't believe game 1 is one month away

The last 2 wins for LSU in Gainesville were by the skin of their teeth.
They haven't won comfortably in Gainesville since 2002, and that is an extreme outlier.
Any LSU fan thinking they are just going to stroll into the swamp and kill Florida is clearly delusional and ignoring the series history, not to mention the gator roster.

Why did you have to bring up that shite?
God what a waste of talent that 2002 team was.
Should've EASILY won the SEC.
