Florida's 2 regular season undefeated football teams to meet in a special time travel bowl game. You will decide the winner. Voting closes on Dec 31, 2012. Don't just vote, explain why.

The 1995 Gators led by Danny Wuerfful went an undefeated 11-0 in the regular season before beating Arkansas 34-3 in the SECCG and losing in the NC game to Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl 62-24

The 2009 Gators led by Tim Tebow went an undefeated 12-0 in the regular season before losing to Alabama 32-13 in the SECCG and beating the U of Cincinnati in the Sugar Bowl 51-24

1995 not close.

UF lost to maybe the best team ever in CFB in 1995.

In 2009 the offense was iffy at best. D was great but they would not score more than 17 on the 1995 team

1995 takes the early lead.

1995, because that offense put up points fast. 2009's anemic offense would've struggled to keep up. Give 2009 a competent OC and I'm really not sure.

I want to say 1995, but I think the NFL showed there was a fundamental flaw in Spurrier's offense. Good blitzing teams would routinely shut him down. So I think the 2009 defense with our insane secondary could effectively shut down the 1995 offense.

Then it comes down to if the 2009 offense could score any points.

Spurrier offense vs. Addazio offense.

Nuff said. 95 would've mopped the floor with the 09 squad.

Better game would be 95 vs 08, when UF had Harvin still there.

3-1 for 1995 team after day 1.

Interesting that the reasons given are a lot about the weakness of the 2009 offense run by Senior Tim Tebow. Or is it more about the offense coached by Addazio?

That would be a good matchup but I was comparing the 2 undefeated regular season teams, neither won a NC and are somewhat forgotten compared to the 1996 and 2008 teams that did.

95, just a shame they ran into the best CFB team of all time (possibly).

Interesting that most people aren't giving the 2009 team credit for their extremely good defense.

I think it's more of how bad the 2009 offense was being able to score enough points.

It's also about stopping Danny and the 1995 offense that scored points in buckets. They were almost unstoppable. As good as the 2009 defense was, they were still not as good as the black-shirts that day in the Fiesta Bowl in 1996. Most people forget that we led that game after the first quarter. The injury to J. Green and a sack, turnover TD in the second quarter turned the game around. After that Neb rolled.

On a personal note, I was there, had a great week in AZ. Went to the grand canyon, Flagstaff to a ski resort and to Tombstone. Fun week.
