He was about to Bobby Bowden himself. Wish he would have gotten out a couple of years ago.

We owe it to him to beat the shite out of LSU Saturday. Countless LSU fans have been saying they made him quit.

Happy to see him go. I was always aggravated that he went to a team in the SEC East.

Word is this is a mutual separation. They knew he was leaving this year and wanted to get a jump on the coaching search and didn't want to surprise the recruits sorta like we did last year at the last minute.

And that's not even hyperbole.

The greatest Gator can shed the crimson and black clothes, put on the orange and blue and come home. Once a Gator, always a Gator. Hopes for a long and happy retirement!

I've put off posting anything on this site about SOS retiring.

I remember when UF hired him from duke. I was in high school when that happened. I more or less grew up with SOS being THE coach in college football.

I didn't like it when he left us to go to the NFL. We may have gotten spoiled and unappreciative, but I've never forgiven him for going to scar, especially when he had an opportunity to come back home. I'm sorry I held it against him now. We really were a spoiled bunch. He couldn't win here unless he won the sec every year. It got real bad after he won the natty.

It feels like a relief that he isn't coaching for another team anymore. That OUR coach can be a gator again like he was always supposed to be (and I'm sure always has been anyway.)

I got a little emotional typing a farewell on alligator army and I'm getting emotional typing this.

Thanks for all you've done for gator nation. You'll always be the alpha gator.

Good Luck Head Ball Coach, there will always be only one.
