I'll keep up with the season record predictions in the OP and we can revisit this at the end of the year. I figure we can do a score prediction thread every week and see who comes closest.

I'm going to go with 27-21 Florida in the Michigan game

Season record: 10-2 with SECCG appearance.

17-14...this could be a really sloppy but physical game from both teams.

I am going with 24-10 Gators. 10+ wins on the season. SEC East Champs, if Auburn wins the west. SEC Champions.

vs. Michigan - UF falls behind early after Michigan comes out guns blazing, but UF settles down and the offense starts to come to life, taking advantage of the skill players at WR and Michigan's inexperience on defense. UF shuts down the Wolverines in the 2nd half, and makes a statement on opening weekend.

UF 28 Michigan 17

vs. UNCO - UF comes out slightly sluggish after an emotional win at Jerry World, but is able to comfortably beat up on UNCO.

UF 41, UNCO 13

vs. Tennessee - After hearing McElwain bash the team for the lackluster effort early in the win vs. UNCO, UF comes out focused and looking for revenge against Tennessee. The Volunteers play better than expected, and give UF all it can handle for 3 Qs. The UF defense makes a couple big plays in the final minutes, and UF avenges the meltdown in Knoxville. The UF offense racks up over 450 total yards, including the first 300 yard passing game since Del Rio's breakout vs. UK.

UF 34, Tennessee 24

@ UK - First of only 3 true road games for UF. UK jumps on UF early, like Michigan did, its players having much more experience having played UF relatively tough over the last 3 years, aside from the debacle in 2016 in the Swamp. UF QB (assuming this is Zaire/Franks) throw 3 picks, and UF has to lean on the running game. Defense bends a lot but doesn't break, similarly to the game against Tennssee. UF pulls out an ugly win in Lexington.

UF 16 UK 14

vs. Vanderbilt - After having struggled with Vandy over the last 2 years, UF scores early and often on the Commodores. Falling behind quickly forces the Commodores to abandon their gameplan and throw nearly every down. UF defense has a huge day with 4 sacks, and 4 INTs. UF in a blowout.

UF 38 Vandy 10

vs. LSU - Both LSU and UF are undefeated at this point, and in the top 10, with LSU at #4 and UF at #9. College Gameday makes a stop in Gainesville. Tons of emotion running rampant as both teams have to be seperated yet again in pregame. Both offenses have their way in a high scoring affair. UF comes out on top due to a late Eddy P 50+ yard FG. The win propels UF into the top 5.

UF 31, LSU 30.

vs. TA&M - UF comes out sluggish again after an emotional win over LSU. TA&M's tall athletic WR corp gives the UF secondary fits, in their worst performance of the season. UF wins another high scoring affair.

UF 41, TA&M 38

vs. UGA - The battle for the East. UGA's defense comes in highly touted, only having 1 loss on the season and many predict that would be the difference. Eason, struggles yet again against the UF defense, and the secondary makes amends for its worst performance of hte year against A&M. UF wins a sloppy affair, but puts together its most complete performance of the season in gaining control of the East.

UF 24 UGA 19

@ Mizzou - UF is blitzed early by Mizzou's high octane offense. Having a few of its DL out also hurts, as Mizzou racks up over 500 total yards of offense. UF is able to battle back in the 2nd half, but finally is unable to dig itself out completely. In an upset, UF suffers its first lsos of the season.

Mizzou 31, UF 27

@ South Carolina - The Cocks are having a great season so far and its a battle, with Muschamp facing his former team in Columbia for the first time. A spirited effort by the UF RBs leads the way as the UF passing game sputters. THe defense makes enough plays to hold the Cocks offense at bay, as UF closes out its SEC schedule with a hard fought win.

UF 26 Cocky 17

vs. UAB - A final tuneup before FSU, Florida rests a lot of its key starters. UF overwhelms UAB early, off to an easy win.

UF 45, UAB 9

vs. FSU - Having being blasted by FSU of late, has many Gator faithful wondering if another awful loss is to come. FSU is ranked in the top 5, with its only loss being a 3 point nailbiter to Alabama. UF puts forth its best effort against FSU in years, but its young defense gives up too many yards in a 2nd half comeback by FSU. FSU escapes with a 3 point victory.

FSU 34, UF 31

I originally had 11-1, but I think UF trips up at either Mizzou or Cocky. Back to back road games in November after Jacksonville is not a good formula.

Still 10-2, would be a great season. As for the SECCG...

- vs. Alabama - McElwain vs. Saban III. At this point many of the media is tired of a UF vs. Bama matchup. Once again Bama is undefeated, and looking near invincible leading up to the title game. UF is 17 point underdogs despite showing a huge improvement on offense throughout the season.

UF puts forth a grand effort, and gives Bama all it can handle. However, a terrible offensive PI penalty knocks UF's final bid for an upset astray as the penalty makes the FG 65 yards. Eddy P just comes up a few yards short.

Bama 26, UF 24

I think Missouri is going to get us as well this year. I think the other losses are going to be LSU and FSU. Just a lot of talent on those teams. But UF beats UGA and UT and holds the tie breaker to win the east and so they go to Atlanta.

If we are 7-5 or worse, I will self ban. Ridiculous to think that with the talent we have, that we could be 7-5.

I'll break mine down game by game.

Michigan: Florida starts off fast on offense and slow on defense. We open with a touchdown and by giving up a touchdown. I think both defenses settle in, and Florida gets a couple of field goals to make it 13-7 at the half. Michigan opens the second half with a touchdown drive, a stop, and another touchdown to go up 21-13. Florida scores two fourth quarter touchdowns to win the game 27-21 and show a lot of mental toughness- something the coaches emphasized all offseason and camp. 1-0.

Northern Colorado: Florida overmatches a less talented team. Wins comfortably while getting Zaire and Franks plenty of reps, Gators 45, UNCO 0. 2-0.

Tennessee: I really think Florida comes out pissed off against a team they are far more talented than. The Gators start out fast on Tennessee and take a 17-0 lead into the half, Florida ends up winning 31-14 and Butch Jones gets fired after starting the season 1-2. 3-0.

Kentucky: After an emotional win over Tennessee, Florida goes into Lexington high on confidence. The Gators start out sluggish and never really click against a motivated Kentucky team, but I cant pick a team that's lost 31 straight games to beat us. Gators win an ugly one in Lexington, 23-17. 4-0.

Vanderbilt: Florida returns home after a shaky road game expecting to be refocused. The Gators start out decent taking a 13-3 lead into the third quarter, but sloppy play for a second week in a row leaves the Gators with their first loss of the season. Vandy shocks a Top 8 ranked Gators team at home, 24-20. 4-1.

LSU: Florida returns to action against a good LSU team for homecoming in a newly forming rivalry. LSU enters the game having a solid start to the season and both teams are ranked in the top 15 for a night game in the Swamp. The Gators start off fast and the distinct coaching advantage for the Gators is apparent. Florida wins a big game against a higher ranked team at home for the second time in 3 years. Gators win 35-21. 5-1.

Texas A&M: Florida comes into a home game against a big time program that's in shambles after firing head coach Kevin Sumlin after a loss to Alabama. Florida dominates a discombobulated Aggie team to the tune of a 42-13 blowout. 6-1 going to Jacksonville.

Georgia: The Gators return to Jacksonville playing against a 6-1 Georgia team. Both teams are looking to put the clamps on the SEC East and keep their names in the Playoff picture. #12 ranked Florida and #9 ranked UGA battle it out in a close game. For the second straight year, UGA can't do much against Florida's defense, and the Gators, who have found their stride behind quarterback Feleipe Franks with the change of pace from Malik Zaire, beat the Bulldogs for the 4th straight year by a score of 28-13. In a game that's not even as close as the score suggests. 7-1.

Missouri: Florida heads to Colombia to play Missouri. Florida faces a little matchup problem against the Tigers offense, but the Gators outphysical the Tigers, sack Lock a few times, force turnovers similar to the 2016 game, and beat the Tigers in a road game 38-21. 8-1.

South Carolina: In a game against their former coach, Florida heads to South Carolina ranked #7 in the country and squarely in the middle of the national picture for a College Football Playoff spot. The Gators come ready to play against their old coach, plus it's a big night game against a South Carolina team battling for bowl eligibility. Florida has to scratch and claw for a tough road win, and beat the Cocks 24-14 to improve to 9-1.

UAB: Florida starts off slow but a big talent advantage and refocusing tunes them up for the FSU game. Florida pulls away late with two fourth quarter touchdowns to win 42-14 and set up a top 10 matchup against 9-2 FSU. 10-1.

FSU: the Noles come to the Swamp having lost to Alabama and Louisville during the season, but as champions of the ACC Coastal. The two teams are gridlocked at 14-14 at the half and the game goes to overtime tied 31-31. FSU wins a heartbreaker 37-34 in overtime, in one of the best game in Florida-FSU history, and the rivalry is finally back. 10-2.

SECCG: Florida goes to Atlanta with a different feel than either of the past two seasons. The fans are excited again and the team has confidence that they can compete with Alabama. Florida plays Alabama close throughout, but the advantage in depth for Alabama is still apparent, and it's obvious Florida is one year away. The Gators fall in Atlanta again, 35-24, but it's clear that the Gators are close to turning a corner. 10-3.

Bowl: Florida meets Miami in the best non New Years Six bowl matchup. The Gators dominate the Hurricanes the way they did Mark richt when he was at Georgia. Florida wins 41-7, and finish the season 11-3. The Gators pull in a top 3 recruiting class, and expectations for 2018 are through the roof.

Game 1: Florida 22 - Michigan 21
Felipe Franks makes the start for Florida and he folds under the lights in his first big game. It's 14-3 at half. The defense forces a turnover and UF gets another FG after half, but another turnover gives Michigan a short field and it's 21-6. Zaire comes in then and revives the running game, and UF finally gets on the board with a TD, 21-13. The two teams trade punts before the UF defense finally comes through with a turnover, but Michigan holds UF to a FG. At 21-16, Michigan has a chance to ice the game, but UF forces a punt. Callaway has a decent punt return and puts Florida in good field position, where they find a way to make it down the field for a TD. They miss the 2 pt conversion but Michigan can't get into FG range late.

Game 2: Florida 51-UNCO 10
A lot of young guys get to play, and UF has a healthy QB rotation all game long. Everyone looks great and James Robinson has 3 TD and everyone talks about how amazing he is going to be the rest of the year

Game 3: Florida 31 - Tennessee 23
Tennessee runs the ball well early as they try to copy Michigan's template for a victory by pounding Florida's front 7. That being said, their defense doesn't look all that great, and I think Zaire has won the QB battle by now and he hurts UT a lot on the ground. It's a wild first half that Florida feels lucky to be in as UT leaves a bunch of points on the field in the red zone, as they lead 16-10. In the 2nd half, UT gets a big TD from Jennings, and it looks like they have Florida dead to rights at 23-10, but Butch doesn't go for 2, and Florida scores 2 TD's to take the lead 24-23. Tennessee tries to drive for the win, but a tipped pass ends up in the hands of Nick Washington, who walks it into the end zone for the win.

Game 4: Florida 38 - Kentucky 26
In a wild game, both teams are running the ball at will. But Florida's defense is just a little bit better than Kentucky's and Florida also gets a big play on special teams. They have lead the whole way, but never by a lot, but Callaway breaks it open with a punt return TD at 31-20. Kentucky responds with a late TD, but they can't get the 2 pt conversion. UF runs out the clock, but Scarlett breaks a big run to make it look worse than it was.

Game 5: Florida 15 Vanderbilt 10
In a game featuring two strong running teams, people come in this year actually expecting there to be a lot of points scores. However, UF and vanderbilt combine for 7 fumbles. Vanderbilt has a number of chances to win it, but they miss 2 FGs and Florida goes 5-5 in that department, and ends up holding on to win the game stopping Vanderbilt on downs.

Game 6: LSU 34 Florida 23
Florida is been living on timely turnovers, good special teams, and a timely offense, but their luck runs out against a talented LSU team that runs the ball right down their throats. It's 21-0 before Florida even knows what happens. With the running game completely shut down, UF is throwing every down and Zaire gets hurt late in the 2nd quarter. Franks comes in and leads UF on a TD drive to make it 21-7. LSU ends any change of a come back with a methodical drive after half, and although UF makes it look respectable, LSU is never threatened.

Game 7: Florida 45 - TAMU 38 OT
At this point in the season, UF's defense is not only a beat dinged up, but they've been totally exposed on the ground. TAMU is a good running team and they come in hoping for an upset pounding the rock. It's a back and forth game the whole way, but TAMU is able to send it to overtime with a FG. Franks has played beautifully in the place of the injured Zaire, really reviving UF's passing game. Florida scores early in OT on a beautiful crossing route to Callaway. TAMU gets first and goal inside the 5, but they can't quite force it in, and with some questionable passing plays, UF is able to tip the ball away to win the game.

Game 8: Florida 23 - Georgia 20
A great time for a bye allows Florida to heal up and enter Jax with better defense, and also a QB controversy. With Zaire healthy again, he gets the start over Franks, and the running game pays dividends as they go hit for hit with a good georgia team in the first half. 13-10. Georgia scores on two straight possessions to open the 2nd half before Florida responds with a FG to cut it to 20-16 on an 55 yard FG. Zaire is very ineffective in the 2nd half, but the Florida defense and special teams gives them great field position for their final drive, and with little time left, and Franks comes in to lead the last time limited drive. Tyrie Cleveland wins a jump ball in the end zone with seconds left, and Florida hangs on to win a thriller in Jax.

Game 9: Missouri 31 - Florida 13
Franks is now given the starting job full-time, and coming off an emotional win, UF comes out flat, in a cold and windy night in Missouri, and they are eviscerated on national TV. It is never close. The QB controversy is back.

Game 10: Florida 21 - South Carolina 14
Florida comes in to South Carolina with a chance to clinch the SEC east with a win, but they have issues on defense, they can't decide on a QB, and South Carolina plays tough at home. Zaire gets the start because Franks has been pretty bad away from Florida field outside of his game winning drive against UGA. It is just a tough tough game, dead even from start to finish. Florida has better special teams, and is able to manufacutre more of a running game, and they are able to break a 14-14 tie in the early 4th quarter by playing field position and scoring on a short field. South Carolina gets many chances to drive the field, but the Florida defense holds against a south carolina team that is never quite able to take advantage of UF's weakness against the run.

Game 11: Florida 41 - UAB 17
UAB is really bad. Florida is really banged up though, and takes this opportunity to rest a bunch of starters and to have a QB battle. The shenanigans makes the game close at half, 21-17 Florida. Florida stops messing around and let's Zaire start the 2nd half full time, but he fumbles right away. It looks like disaster, but the UF defense turns arounund and gives Florida a defensive TD when Dawson steps in front of a pass. At 28-17 UAB never threatenss again, and UF gets some practice scores in before the big game against FSU.

Game 12: FSU 35 - Florida 16
FSU is playing like a championship team at this point in the season and UF has just been trying to hang in. UF puts up a fight early, but the offense just can't break through, so they settle with FG. It's 14-6 at half. FLorida gets another FG to start the 2nd and forces a punt and people think it's a game before FSU returns a Zairee fumble for a TD. Its 21-9 and Florida doesn't recover. It's 35-9 when the FSU second teams comes in and FLorida scores a TD.

SECCG: Alabama 45 - Florida 17
Aalabama rams it down Florida's throat many times. Florida scores some TDs but it is never close.

Bowl Game: Florida 38 - Penn State 35
Florida draws Penn State in the citrus bowl. Florida comes out fired up after a month to get health and with Zaire as the for sure started. They run it right down Penn State's throat and it is 28-7 at half. The 2nd half though, is a different story, as Penn State thunders back after two Zaire turnovers. It's 28-21 before you can blink. Penn State then blocks a punt to tie the game. UF is rattled. Franks comes in to start the next drive and leads florida on a TD drive. They think the game is done but Penn State throws a dagger TD to tie the game. Franks has a few seconds left, and after a good KR, they get into long FG range and Pinero wins the game.

Florida ends the year 10-4, and the talk about championships begins for 2018.

This seems realistic, but also would be a disappointment. Almost an exact replica of last season.

I hope that we can crack an 11 win season after basically winning 10 in Macs first two years. I'm excited about the direction and the buying in that we've seen from the guys this camp.

Finch only hopes that happens...but he will be disappointed.....big time.

Meatchicken revenge is ours and very sweet. I think the rines only return 3-4 starters total. UF kicks major arse. 30-13

Northern Colorado....aww...the skiing, the slopes, awe inspiring views....then total hell awaits them as the Gators destroy them 48-10

Hillbillies come to town with jugs of moonshine and a crappy team....Jonesy will be on the hot hot seat after this game 27-16

UK Wildcats finally get us and they have better team than most realize...13-20

LSU get homecoming treatment and Mongo has hot seat after the game. 24-13

A&M tries to play like a big twelve team and throws 52 passes...only 24 completed and 3 to the good guys with 4 sacks, 4 fumbles lost.

Vandy comes to town cramming for exams and gets cramed 31-9

UGA in Jax, what a pageant, what drunk fans and only 1 fan base is happy after UF picks off Easy Eason 3 times, 2 fumbles lost, 1 player ejected and Smart does not seem so smart any more. 27-21

USC Boom has team ready and its a nail biter, down to the last 54 sec and Fast Eddie kicks 51 yder to seal the deal. 16-13.

UAB Blazers are stylish and chic...and a commuter school is fodder 51-14

Girls school comes to the Swamp and THIS time the Gators are ready and kick some ketchup & mustard
29-17

7-5

LDR is the starter until Mac is forced to go to Franks as he looks better than Zaire in his game reps.

Michigan 35-17

Michigan opens up with the run which gashes us and opens up the passing game..UF offense struggles but adds a late TD to make it look closer.
UF 55-3
UF 24-14
UF pressures Dormady into mistakes as the defense and running game carry the offense.
UF 35-6
UK 's hype and hopes to end the streak are put to rest quickly
VU 17-14
Vandys running game gashes us up the middle and too many UF TOs give the dores the win.
UF 17-13
UF forces Eason to make too many mistakes and Franks gets the Win as the offense does just enough in his 1st start.

TAMU 38-35
Franks lights up TAMU but they kill us with Christian Kirk and their stable of WRs eating up our young DBs.

UF 24-16
UF jumps out early 21-9 as a defensive TD and Scarlett 2 TDs lead the way.
MIZ 34-32
The offense shows what it can do as Franks throws for 3 TDs and Perine and Scarlett get one TD a piece. The defense does as well and completely shits the bed allowing Lock to have a great day.
UF 34-17
Franks and Scarlett lead the way getting 2 TDs a piece and the defense keeps Bentley in check.
UF 45-12
UAB gets boat raced by Franks and perine.
FSU 38-10
The talent gap and offensive mistakes cost UF as the Noles take another game

It's possible that we have a seven win season -- if we absolutely shite the bed in more than a few games.

Michigan lost ten starters on defense, their offensive line is very young -- we control both lines we should win the game. : Win

Directional FCS: Win

Tennessee: Played out of their minds last year (according to their own fans) and stole a game they shouldn't have at home. I don't think they come into Ben Hill and do the same. : Win.

Kentucky: Win, although I feel like this might be the year they take one from us (but I feel like that every year).

Vandy: They're definitely trending upward but we have them at home. : Win

LSU: They couldn't beat us with Fournette and half of our defense on crutches on their home turf, why would they be favored? : Win

A&M: They were diggity dog shite last year, with a bunch of fans angry at their coach -- but now they're coming to Ben Hill to win a game? : Win

UGA: We own 'em, with injuries or without. : Win

Mizzou, SC, UAB? : Win, win, win.

FSU is likely the only team we will lose to, the rest we're favored outside of UGA, but UGA gets talked up every single year, only to fail.

What position are we going to be worse at on offense? Almost everyone is returning, and without our best linebackers and safeties we still managed to shut down teams like LSU and Iowa when it mattered.

I'll give you a chance to give up on your ban bet of 7 - 5, unless you think we're going to cave for some unforeseen reason.
