I think the suspensions and uncertainty (until recently) surrounding them, the hurricane, and wanting so badly to fix the offense are stressing him out. I'm glad he seemed to break out of his funk towards the end. Hopefully the team has a good couple days of practice, these interviews with the suspended players go well and we get them back for Vandy, and he comes to Wednesday's pressed in a good mood.

I like the progression we saw in the offense against Tennessee, and I hope we see the progression continue.

Duke Dawson is highly questionable this week after a head injury against Tennessee. He will not practice on Monday.
Kylan Johnson is at about 75 percent health. He is still doubtful.
James Robinson will see a specialist this week for his heart condition.
CJ Henderson will have to step up even more if Dawson cannot go this week.
Brad Stewart will also get more playing time without Dawson.
There are still no updates on suspended players. “I promise you guys, when we do, I’ll let you know.”
McElwain took responsibility for the poor time management at the end of the Tennessee game.
He said he did not take over play calling in the fourth quarter.
McElwain on Feleipe Franks: “The biggest thing is, he’s got confidence in himself. He’s got confidence in the guys around him.”
Tyrie Cleveland has worked on his body and learned how to practice, which has given him more confidence in games.
“We’ve gotta win on third downs. It’s not gonna be easy, especially in that environment.”
McElwain on fumbling issues in the first two games: “The biggest thing is to know that the play is never over.”
Kadarius Toney’s role will continue to expand, but McElwain said he doesn’t want to overload him to early since wide receiver is still a new position for him.
McElwain said pass protection has to improve at the running back position.
“Late in the game, we didn’t tackle worth a hill of beans.”
On Chauncey Gardner’s missed tackles: “You saw what I saw.”
Jachai Polite was named one of the defensive players of the game.

Per some website so we don't have to watch his embarrassing press conferences.

That is a bunch of shite to have to put up with to start a season and add to it that we lay and egg in the opener and all the negative so called Gator fans come out in full force spouting their trash about the coaches, team, program.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it isn't a train. Fans need to chill and give Mac a chance to get the job done. I saw signs of good things to come on Saturday but we need to continue to improve. go Gators.

for some reason, this responsed pissed me off. along with throwing the defense under the bus for not tackling well.

What do you want him to say? Let's be honest, the tackling in the 4th qtr was awful, especially by our secondary guys who seem to love going for shoelace tackles. Maybe Mac's response will light a fire under these guys and they'll come up and start laying the wood against the other team.

This! It looked like some of the D Backs avoided contact with Kelly in the 4th quarter.

Duke is a big loss - he's been playing really well and is probably the best player in the secondary right now. Hope he's OK.

UF is REALLY missing Kylan Johnson right now because of the LB depth issues.

Against a running team like Kentucky, UF's bad tackling in the secondary, which is now worse with Dawson out, and no depth at LB means the offense better come ready to score.

"You know, our offense really let our defense play too much as the game went on. I understand our defense is young, but they played lights out. But hey, they were just gassed. What do you expect when the defense gives you the ball back, you know, and you go three and out, it's kinda demoralizing to have to go back out there 5 minutes later. Our defense is fine. It's our offense that has to give our defense a break sometimes, and we acknowledge that and we're going to correct it."

I dont think it would help to trow the offense under the bus in a RS Froshs first game in the Swamp

Yeah, our defense held them to 3 points through three quarters. They did the frick out of their job. They did more than their job, they scored a touchdown before our offense did. Our defense misses some tackles, but shite, there are no backups, they're all freshmen and holding Tennessee -- who scored on average 42 points a game -- to 3 for three and a half quarters is pretty fricking impressive.

If there's a unit who deserves praise, it's the defense. They did everything humanly possible to even give us a chance against Tennessee and...I'm agreeing with Finch? What the frick is going on here.

What do you think about Mac's development of Franks so far, Finch? You seem to be bashing Mac a little less than normal

I'm just happy after a win. It's only game 2, but the verdict is still out on Mac's QB development. Something happened in the 4th quarter. Something changed. If Mac really did start calling the plays, all blame should be put on Nuss. He needs to go. Mac isn't helping matters by keeping things close to his chest like he does.

Most coaches keep things close to the vest. I agree though, Mac needs to work on his chest.

Personally, I don't care if he weeps, laughs, or whatever in the presser if we're winning. I do kind of like the rorschach test his demeanor is for fans though.

More than anything else, I think he recognizes that they are part of the job, but a part of the job that he finds redundant a lot of days. Can't blame him there.

I wonder if he's just as much tired of Nuss as we are.

Mac is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. I think he drowns out the "noise in the system" from all the armchair QBs and folks who don't know shite about football.

He is our HC through 2018 regardless of what keyboard jockeys think. We can see the problems playing true frosh and even r/s frosh..they have to learn and we just have to hope it doesn't lose too many games in the process.

Talent we have, experienced depth we don't in some position groups...Moon is getting snaps and will soon be able to really help out at LB. Marc and CJ are going to All SEC type players in the future. Losing Dawson is a big blow....but its next man up.

So you've finally came around?

I mean I saw all I needed to see in the Michigan game.
