This is everything I have read or heard about practice as of today so far.

Offense

QB- If the season was to start today your order of qb's would be as follows;

1 Del Rio (good knowledge of the system and has the best command of the offense and chemistry with the recievers)
2 Trask (I shite you not #2, best arm and the most accurate)
3 Appleby (only one with real game experience)
4 Franks (been bad at sailing his passes)

RB

1 Cronkrite (the kid is a beast, great blocker and has the best hands outta the backfield)
2 Mark Thompson (Derrick Henry 2.0)
3 Scarlett (limited by injuries so far)

WR

Fulwood is finally living up to potential.
Swain is a great route runner.
Massey will be pure awesomeness.
Worton has finally got the mental side of the game down.

TE

The TE's have improved on their blocking and Goolsby looks excellent this spring.

Oline

Overall they are ahead of were they were last year but still not all the way there yet. The interior looks great, its the exterior that needs work. Somedays they take it to the dline though. That didnt happen at all last year.

Defense

Dline - Strength of the defense this year. May lead the SEC in sacks. Cox will be a great run stuffer.

Line backer - Deeper then last year but inexperienced. Davis will be great however.

Secondary - Dawson has had a great spring. Chauncey will get a ton of reps this year. Tabor will be an All-American. Quincy will make All-SEC 1st or Second team and Maye is looking good as always. Wont be deep like the dline though.

Special teams

All i know here is that Pinero has looked the part in practice and it seems the days of kicking woes will be behind us.

The Orange and Blue Debut will be Friday at 7pm on the SEC Network.

Its either Del Rio or Appleby...experience at starting in a bunch of games can trump talent.

Remember you dont need passing to win...you only need QB to help move chains and not hurt us. Running the ball is the way you win....why do you think Bama has done so well?

You play stout defense and run the damn ball in the SEC. Last year was dismal..even though Taylor gained a 1,000 yds...it took 13 games and no one else ran the ball. Total rushing sucked and if we want to win the SEC, we need to be no worse than third in the conference running it.

Our defense kept us in many games and it will this year too. We cant have too many 3rd and longs like last year. if we can get decent QB play + get great running from Mark Thompson (finally the big back we have been missing who has speed to boot) + the Jordans...look out. We have plenty of talent and the coaching to use it.

After Fridays game I will then have better idea of what to expect for the season. I do know we will beat LSU at home this year...mark it down folks! (unless God forbid the injuries pile up)And it will end their short streak.

If thats all that mattered then Treon would still be the QB.

Oh I post it on the rant too....I remember them laughing when I predicted the same thing in preseason in 2012 and our defense and OL ate them up...even though score didnt show it

LSU will be stopped just watch. We almost beat them in 2014 at home when game went into OT and we should have won with last minute pass to the end zone dropped by infamous board handed TE....right in his #@^%*& mitts. Then last year we gave them a game until defense wore out.

They aint that bad.

Doesn't surprise me, we made a couple threads about him being a steal. If not for the type of offense run at his high school he'd be starting every game. He just got unlucky in that regard, and honestly he's probably gonna be the guy when Del Rio goes unless we get someone else this year.

Dude's got what he needs, let's just hope Mac can keep the train chuggin'.

Coach Mac said Trask throws the out route about as good as he has ever seen. From what I read he values that throw and perfect timing on underneath routes as his top 2 priorities of throwing a ball.

I will LOL at every fricking recruiting ranking if Trask turns out to be a star.

I mean, if you look at it objectively: It's hard to shine when you're playing at a school where the system doesn't fit you at all, and you're playing behind a guy where it does fit him.

Furthermore, you can't transfer out -- but I mean, if you watch most of his tape, he is ACCURATE. Which is what we've been needing for a while, Secondly, he's got the size, period. I have no idea how his mechanics will pan out, but he's got the right stuff.

Straw my man! I myeslf have no favorites in the QB derby....but I do have one in the run game...I believe Mark Thompson will tear it up...# 1 rated RB out of JUCO for a reason folks. When he showed at McElwains office he told him he weighed 239 and according to Coach Mac....he didnt look it at all. He has speed and size...watch out SEC! He outran our secondary the other day in a srimmage after he broke free from the line of scrimmage.

Last year we finish horribly at # 13 in total net rushing and we were damn lucky to win the east with that total. We had so many third & longs because of this. Ol will be better and Im hoping for at least third in SEC rushing stats.
