“I thought we had a good plan,” coach Jim McElwain said, “but as it turned out, the plan was pretty well foiled by getting whupped by big, strong guys. And that was disappointing.”

You think you’re disappointed?

Wait until you hear how loud the Gator Nation is this week.

They tried to believe, these fans who have endured seven years of bad offenses and now appear destined to dwell in the pit of offensive despair for another year.

Yeah, I know. You can’t give up on an offense after one game.

Watch me.

We thought this was going to be different and instead it was more of the same. Another physical opponent, another trip behind the woodshed.

Players told the media boys and girls after the game that there would be no finger-pointing. That’s fine. I’ve got plenty.

You … have a mess at quarterback. I’m not sure there is an answer.

You … have some really soft guys who better get tougher in a hurry.

You … have had 28 games of football at Florida and the East titles are nice and all but this has to get better really soon or this team is going to have to battle for bowl eligibility.

Very true Dooley. But if you vote Florida in the top 25 you need to change what songs you are listening to on the ipod for the next back nine on the ride back from dallas

He is right , everyone seems to have turned on Mac . He better get this offense going before he gets boos from the home crowd.

Very quickly. Mac got to follow Muschamp, all he had to do was put a decent offense out on the field to buy a lot of goodwill.

I bought into the idea that once his guys were in place and there was stability with the offensive staff it would turn around. That clearly was a miscalculation.

Dooley is also the one asking tough questions now. He made Jim answer the play calling question directly when Jim glossed over it today.

Need more people to be that bold now.

I never thought I would say this, but I imagine that once again, a relatively crappy team will win the East, and I don't think it will be us. If things don't drastically change, there is a very real chance that we lose to Tenner, UGA, and FSU this year. If Muschamp can find some defense and the offense wasn't just a fluke over the weekend, we may lose to them as well.

I actually don't think that Mac will survive that. I know it should be stupid to be so dire after one game against what may be a very good Michigan team, but the offensive pieces are there, at least enough to not come out of the gate still looking exactly like last year. And as has been said, were it not that Butch Jones was a completely awful coach and UGA chronically does less with more, we wouldn't have been in Atlanta these last two years. Who knows what will happen with the Vols; Butch is an idiot but lucky as hell. UGA may just be a solid team - not a world beater, but solid. And a solid team whips this team's arse if it continues playing like this.

Don't get me wrong; I hope he turns it around. But there is simply no excuse for this offense continuing to look like hot garbage anymore. We do have some talent at QB, some of it raw, some of it just experienced whilst not world beaters, but there should be someone back there that can at least make a decent show of competing. We should have a good OL. We have decent backs, some solid TEs, and other pretty good receivers. There are a lot of coaches out there who could get more than three points out of the pieces in place.

The Tennessee game will be our season if we start out of the gate 1-2 This team may quit on Mac. Even muschamp's worst team at Florida beat freaking Tennessee. If we lose that watch all the decommitments start rolling in and I would not blame a one of them.

Unfortunately though we will have Mac for sure next year but that may be his last year if he can not get this turned around I really hope he can but I have plenty of doubt that he can not
