What is your score and statistical predictions for the game this weekend.

I like where we are at but I don't think we are quite there yet. I think Ole Miss will bring pressure on Defense and will get to Grier consistently. I think they played down to Vandy and they have heard for a week now about that game and will be ready for The Swamp.

27-17 Ole Miss wins

Ole Miss 250 yds passing 2 TD's, 140 yds rushing 1 TD. 2FG's, Defense gets a pick and 4+ sacks

Florida 225 yds passing 1 TD, 125 yds rushing 1 TD, 1 FG, Defense gets a pick and 3+ sacks

Ole Miss is going to get taken behind the woodshed dude. What the hell have they done? Killed two Sisters of the Poor, beat Bama to show they are over rated and struggled against Vandy.

Do you realize that OLe Miss is going to come in already one dimensional? They cant run the ball well and against our secondary...good luck. Their scatback Walton isnt going to do much. Which means they know they are going to have to throw it 45-50 times.

Gators all over them. Turnovers will doom them. Kelly will get sacked at least 5 or six times and fumble once at least....plus go color blind and throw 2 picks.

Going to Mizzou ranked around 11th in the country.

My spirit hasn't been broken yet this season!

I think it will definitely be a defensive struggle

17-16 UF

Grier: 10/20 for 97 Yds Passing, 0TD, 1 INT, 35 yds rushing

Harris: 4/9 60 yds passing, 1 TD

Taylor: 25 Carries, 85 Yds, TD

Robinson: 7 Rec, 100 Yds, TD

Defense comes up big with 5 sacks and 3 INTs. Gators get the dub.

Also keep in maind that their Defensive line is sick and will probably de-fricking-stroy our O-Line all night.

That being said, I think our Defense is gonna give them fits. Our offense will be just good enough to get the job done with an assist from some turnovers and good field position.

4+ sacks

Just read on another thread that they only have 3 sacks for the year which is tied for last in the SEC so I don't see them getting 4+

On the other hand, I think UF gets 4+, a couple picks, and holds Ole Miss to less than 100 yds rushing

Score, UF 21 - UM 17

Idk if anyone has noticed, but Ole Miss' OL has their own issues...

Tunsil is still out and another of their OL might be out as well, plus a few others are dealing with injuries.

Our DL could have a field day.

I predicted UF would upset OM in my season predicted thread 17-16 and I'm sticking to that.

35-20 ole Miss. I want to be proved wrong but I have a sneaking suspicion this is one of those games where our offense doesn't move till the 4th and our defense wears down.

I think the the ole Miss d-line is where they win the game. If we were playing this game at the end of the year and our young o-line had more a chance to gel I'd have more faith but as it stands...

Listen, their DL may be overrated sometimes, but as a team, they send a lot of blitzes from a lot of different directions. And even when they aren't doing that, all of their DL are extremely quick. Nkemdiche doesn't always make the play, but he is ridiculously disruptive on the inside.

Cam Dillard may poop his pants.

Tennessee's defensive line was a good warm up for what we're going to see this weekend. The offensive line held up pretty well for Grier last week, so hopefully that learning experience will help them play well again this weekend.

Also, the guy who said Treon plays is crazy. Treon won't touch the field unless Grier gets hurt.

One thing I would love to see are some TE screens to Goolsby like we saw with Jordan Reed a few years ago.

OM has trouble covering the TE and this would be a way to take advantage of their aggressiveness up front.

Not surprised that you pick Ole Miss for some reason.

FYI and others...I rewatched the entire UT game and the OL acquited themselves very well. At times Grier had a nice cushion in the pocket. Dillard did well and the left side of the line with Sharpe or Ivey with Thurman stood up the pass rush quite well. On the other side we have had Fred Johnson (who didnt play much?), Riles & Jordan hold up well at times. With our scheme we dont need much time...Grier takes deep drops and releases quickly..and we usually try to move Grier out of pocket if a play is called that normally takes time to develop...but the pivot out and roll to his right and then throwing to McGee is a staple. The only thing I would tweak is the pivot roll out...it wont be as successful unless you do continue the fake pitchout to the left more.

Teams get wise and will cover the TE moving out to the right side. Grier is definitely more comfortable throwing to his right and is more accurate. DCs will try to limit the yards on the rollout throw to McGee...if we only get 4 yds for example...then they will let us have it. The qb run option is there and a few times Grier could've run..but we need him standing.

Ole Miss is very bad at covering the Tight End. Expect Goolsby and McGee to have a good game if we can pick up on it.

What have we really done this year to think we are taking anyone to the woodshed. We didn't take ECU to the woodshed. Kentucky nope, Tennessee nope. They did beat Bama at Bama that has to count for something. Ohio State struggled against Northern Illinois. FSU struggled against Boston College so teams sometimes do play down to their competition.

Tennessees d-line isn't even on the same planet at Ole Miss sorry.

I try to not pump the sunshine when I see a team that cant score in the first 3 quarters. Ole Miss offense is better than Tennessee and if we get down in this game it wont be a comeback against a team that has been outscored in the 2nd half. I stick with my prediction.

I'll say this about the UT game - they were not very creative with their blitzes, and the OL did not have a tough time making reads and picking them up.

The OL also held up pretty well in 1 on 1 battles.

The challenge is different for Florida against Ole Miss for 2 big reasons:

#1. Ole Miss is way way way better than Tennessee at Defensive tackle, especially in regards to quickness and overall disruptiveness.

#2. Ole Miss blitzes A LOT more than Tennessee, and those blitzes will come from a lot of different angles, and UF's OL will have a much more challenging evening trying to identify and pick up those blitzes than the simple and predictable shite UT brought to the table. Consider that UT only ran 2 true run blitzes in the 2nd half, and both of those plays destroyed Florida's line. Ole Miss will bring a lot more than 2.

Florida has struggled with delayed blitzes all year. UK used that to great effect. UT didn't do it at all for some reason - watch out for that from Ole Miss in this game.

Which is why McElwain needs to fix the screen plays.

Every time we run a screen, it gets blown up. Against a team that loves to blitz like OM, that is one of the best calls.

Call the screens early to make OM less aggressive, or again call a few deep shots early.

Do neither, and OM will sit 8 in the box or blitz on every down.

Ole Miss this year unlike Tennessee has shown they play tough in all 4 quarters. Here is their point breakdown per quarter
OM OPP
1st 65 3
2nd 41 24
3rd 55 27
4th 58 23

They are 20/21 in the redzone scoring TDs on 15 of those 20.
They average 199 ypg rushing and 345 ypg passing

They may only have 3 sacks but they have 28 tackles for loss which is just as good as a sack and 7 ints which leads the SEC.

Tennessee averages 183 passing yards per game and 248 rushing yards per game

Tennessee sacked us 3 times (8 total) and have 25 tackles for loss total. 4 ints

Tenn breakdown by qtr
Tenn OPP
1st 48 17
2nd 62 16
3rd 31 17
4th 17 35

Since everyone is using the Tenn game as the we arrived game. The stats prove Tennessee is inferior to Ole Miss in almost every part of the game. So do I think we have a chance yes with our defense we always do but looking at the stats I don't see anyone getting taken to the woodshed by us.

I don't think anyone thinks the Tennessee game was our "we have arrived" game.

Again....remember that ECU, UK and especially UT were extra motivated to beat us. We withstood the onslaught.

Ole Miss is rated so fricking high and mighty because they are in the west and beat Bama....big freaking deal. Color me not skeered.

OM is one dimensional...we arent SW Idaho Community College and can flex our muscle. I keep hearing about our offense this and offense that.....remember reptiles that our defense is who wins games....we dont beat UT unless our defense bails us out with a 3 & out after we got score to 27-21....and thats because of the time left...we probably wouldnt have had much time left if they had made even 1 first down....putting much more pressure on us.

Forget offense...all we need is them to not hurt us. Punt and let our defense take over...forcing OM into mistakes and hopefully a few short fields to start possessions.

Our screen plays are pathetic....Grier & Taylor BOTH telegraphed that a screen was coming....Taylor needs more work and Grier has to look the other way first. When a RB behind the line turns his head too quickly and shows obvious signs he is expecting a pass...defenses react quickly. We havent really used screens with RBs behind the line much in the past 5 years...so I can understand why we suck at it. Taylor needs to release fake blocking duties and speed to the open area where we have blockers ready...and thats the other part of this...OL have to learn technique so it isnt telegraphed....on trhe one play I watched last night the OL were ok...but probably not in best position to form convoy. Not since Zook have we been adept at screens other than flanker flares.

You would be surprised what is being said on twitter and other gator boards you would think we beat the 85 bears.

I'm going to go with a defensive game the first half where we fall behind by 3 to 6 followed by a second half where both teams light it up.

Let's say 34-31 Gators.
