Eat a fricking bag of piranha dicks if you think I'm a fake fan. The D/ST saved the day again. Mac's Mo of beating shitty teams continues. Mizzou sucks arse on defense and have given up yards all year to teams with a pulse. The game was more fools gold than anything else. LDR struggled again shows again he's not the answer after this year. We gashed them once their D got tired because of their lack of depth along the DL. Anyone who sees this as anymore more than an ok win vs a terrible team is fooling themselves. It also along with UTs game how bad the east is. The division still hasn't got a win for the year.

Dont get me involved with you and Straw going at it ....but I must say TJ you could be a little more diplomatic than to curse a fellow fan that way....save it for UT or LSU.
I may be pointing out what I think is obvious...the defense and special teams does make our offense look better...but...so does Bamas. Give an offense decent field position enough times and they will make something happen usually...except if they have Treon at the helm.
But TJ lets look at the offense closely and I do see the potential for this offense to make strides in 2017-18. It isnt as needed now as much because of the defense & special teams play.
Next year we will lean on the offense a little more imo. The defense will still be strong but not quite as potent as now...which is why I predicted 11-1 after the spring game...but I also thought our run game would be better...and I believe its around 9th in the SEC? That is not a winning stat....to be SEC champions we will need to be around 3rd in the SEC in rushing and rush defense.

The offense looked terrible in the first half and the defense got ran all over in the 2nd. These problems have been happening all year. We can't expect for FSU, LSU,Arky and possibly Bama to wear down before we move the ball because we'll be down by 3+TDs with LDR throwing picks. Mac should've kept Grier for one thing as he's looked worlds better by comparison. The D-ST scoring masks those problems just like in 2012 and we beat USC 44-11.

uf played a mediocre game and made a ton of mistakes and still won by 26. Just enjoy it. No one thinks we're winning a national title but just maybe they can win the east. For now, UF is 5-1 and has a top 15 ranking, enjoy it!!

What Finch, Reel and TJ just don't seem to grasp is that we are getting better.
At the very least we're getting better. Missouri was blowing us out, Vandy beat us at home by double digits.
This year we demolished Missouri and posted 500 yards (the same amount in a full game against Vandy with a half game with Mizzou).
500 yard games were few and far between in the past, and I'm happy that we're looking more and more cohesive.
If they literally can't see any difference between Treon Harris and LDR, they're just not paying attention.

I was only halfway being serious with my previous post. I enjoyed watching them beat Mizzou. I think the run game is best when it's Perine and Scarlett carrying the rock. But as far as the QB, it hit me that Mac is undefeated when his starting QB is playing (correct me if I'm wrong). That's not a bad stat. It's going to end eventually, and I really don't think this team has what it takes to win out. We will lose to either arky, LSU or both. I just have no faith in this team this year to do to make it to Atl. Let's just ride it out with a sub par bowl victory and work on next season. Since it is "THE" year of the Gators. But I said it once and I'll say it again. We are going to get embarrassed by Michigan in Dallas next season. And I'll be here laughing in your faces about it.
Sure we could win out after that loss next season too. But we're not. After a demoralizing loss like that, it's going to be difficult. I just once want to have a dominating dynsty like Bama where we can just suck the will out every opponent and fan around the nation. Florida has never been like that. The '90s? Please, spurrier was 1-1 in national championship games. 2 appearances. And the tebow era was nice but that really only lasted 4 years. And I know what Bama is going through is special and it's something that only comes around once in a lifetime. But I think it's safe to say that they're the gold standard when it comes to setting goals to achieve. We sit over aye are after year saying, "next year is the year" and in the preseason, "this is the year". And then the cycle starts over. I guarantee you we will be having the same discussions and arguments next season.

How are we getting better? By our supposed best QB being awful again with less than 50% comp % and 3 picks? LDR has played more like Treon than Will Grier. More penalties? Lack of defensive adjustment? Yes we can rack up yards but what good does it do when you throw 3 picks and have only 19 offensive points. That's above average WM football to a T. Score just enough on offense and rely on D/ST. I'd you know like to have an offense that doesn't have to have a defense bail them out every single game in order to win. Especially in year 2 of a supposed offensive gurus era where his QB has been in the system going on almost 3 years at 2 schools. Do you really think Arkansas, LSU, FSU, Bama will not capitalize on our mistakes? That the defense won't play more like the last 5 games against good teams? LDR has 7/5 TDs 998 yds and 57% comp %. That's pathetic for supposed QB whisperer

Why do people keep saying Mac is undefeated with his starting QB like those other games don't count? WM made the Sugar Bowl with his starting QB is he a great coach? Meyer won a NC with Chris Leak did that not count? Did the SB count because WM went 11-1 but not 4-8 in 2013? He's 15-5 at UF. Fun fact since were pointing them out. Mac is currently 7-17 as a HC vs teams with a winning record as a HC at CSU/UF and 1-6 against the top 25 in his first 4.5 yrs a HC. He's 30-4 against teams below .500. Wow look at that great stat. We used to have a HC who won a top 25 games at 3 different places went 6-2 vs the top 25 in his first 5 years as a HC and has yet to even have a losing record. Hmmm

People have to stop using Alabama as a measuring stick. They are in a unique place right now. It is very rare in modern times for a team in a competitive league like the SEC have this kind of sustained run of success. In fact it is unprecedented.
So yeah, you have to learn to enjoy the successes you do have until Alabama's reign is over.
Otherwise you'll just be miserable all the time.
Maybe, if UF is very lucky, they will contribute in some small way to the end of the reign of terror, but for now, just enjoy the fact that we don't suck balls. Go root for your team, enjoy the wins, and try not to be too miserable with the losses.

Urban Meyer has the highest winning percentage in modern football history. He is 154-27 and will go down, in the end, as one of the greatest CFB coaches of ALL frickING TIME.
Nick Saban is 191-60, will definitely be in the HOF, and will go down, literally, as the greatest CFB coach of all time.
STOP USING THESE GUYS AS MEASURING STICKS. UF WAS frickING LUCKY AS ALL frick TO ENJOY SUCCESS FROM ONE OF THESE COACHES.
If you continue to try to use them to measure the program, YOU WILL NEVER BE HAPPY. Unless UF hires another HOF coach, and considering UF has already had 2 in the past 3 decades, I doubt they will be that lucky again for a while.

i'm not trolling. i'm just being realistic. unlike you other folks who are living in a fantasy world.
look, i can tell we're getting better. i notice that we're taking more shots downfield and actually have receivers that can catch them. we're finally starting to establish a running game. but to sit here and think that we're a year away from actually competing is comical. you guys can keep thinking that "next year is the year" all you want. but the truth is, we're not going to be that much better especially since we'll be losing most of the current defense. i hope i'm wrong. i really do. and there's nothing i like more than being proved wrong.
