I have only been to 2 Florida games, and both of those were the Sugar Bowl games vs Cincinnati and Louisville. I am going to go to the Arkansas game this year.
For our anniversary my wife surprised me with tickets to the LSU game this year , so this will be my first game at BHG stadium. Any suggestions on what we should do while we are in town?

I've been to about 5 times. There's nothing really in town. My dad and I usually walk up and down University and stop to get beers at The Swamp (the busiest bar outside the stadium) before game time. The Gator Walk is always fun.

-If you like craft beer, you should check out one of the local breweries, First Magnitude or Swamphead, First Mag is downtown, while Swamphead is over south of Archer road.
-If you like arcade games and drinking, there's a 3 story Barcade downtown on the corner of University and Main St.
-My favorite overall restaurant is probably the Top, which is downtown. Great cocktails, cool atmosphere, and a nice variety of food. The Maradona burger there is amazing. Other good restaurants downtown are MojoQ (bbq), Dragonfly (sushi/japanese), Harry's (seafood/cajun). If you want a steak, go to Marks Prime or Embers. Sabore has amazing food, but they're a little out of the way.
-For breakfast, Maple Street Biscuit which is off Archer road and Flying Biscuit.
Gameday/Football related
-Get into the stadium at least 30 minutes early to see all the pregame stuff.
-Gator walk is 2 hours and 20 minutes before kickoff but you will want to get there earlier if you want a good spot to see all of the players.
-Tailgating is spread out. If you can't find a tailgate you could get food/drinks at midtown. A new rooftop bar is opening called the Social. If you can get a front lawn seat at the Swamp restaurant, it's a nice place to drink, eat, and people watch. If you walk a few blocks east towards 13th street, there's Burrito Brothers and Dough Religion. Burrito Brothers has some really good burritos and draft beer. At Dough Religion, you can build your own pizza and eat there or at the bar connected to it called ooZoo. They have a bunch of beer on draft and a lot of TVs.

There is an awesome musuem at the first exit if headed north or last exit if heading south...the Florida Musuem of Natural History with awesome fossils and replica Indian villages, dug out canoes, bird eggs from every bird known to traverse Fla. A lot of shark stuff, stuffed animals etc etc its free and you need min of 1 hr to even scratch the surface. There is a cool gift shop also....then a short distance is Lake Alice with lots of wild Gators and no fences...dont let fifi close to the water...lol There are picnic tables and so forth but you have to be there dark thirty to park free off the sidewalks....you can walk to thew stadium from there if you are in decent shape or catch a bus to the stadium.
But a lot of partying if you want that...enjoy the game.

What about the trophy room in the south west corner of the stadium? Is it open to the public? I've always wanted to go inside but it's always been closed.

Satchels Pizza - Cool place to get great pizza. Bring cash and be prepared to wait.

I went to UT/UF in 2010. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the look on their faces when they lost.

Food:
Adams BBQ - Best BBQ place in town IMO
Mothers Pub - Great burgers and wings
Relish - More great burgers
Tijuana Flats - Great tacos
The Swamp - Decent food, not the greatest experiences there, but you may run into some former Gator athletes.
Drinks:
Rockeys Piano Bar
The Midnight (not sure if its called this anymore?)
Polomino Pool Room
Sweet Mels - Great drinks and burgers
Gator Shitty - Lot of college kids go here though, not sure if you'd be in to this place. It literally can be shitty.
EDIT: Forgot about the Top. Great place.
