I love going to V-Ball games at UF. One of the best atmospheres. Plus, 6 foot tall college chicks in really short shorts.

No. 4 Florida 3, No. 17 Florida State 0

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 4 Florida swept in-state foe No. 17 Florida State 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-23), in a thrilling match on Tuesday night at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The Gators were bolstered by double-digit kill outputs by senior middle blocker Chloe Mann and sophomore outside hitter Živa Recek, who both had 12 kills.

Florida State jumped ahead by four early in the first two sets but impressive serving by Taylor Unroe got the Gators even with the Seminoles as she aided Florida in going on a 4-0 run in each stanza.

Under Gator head coach Mary Wise, Florida has gone 29-3 against FSU, including an undefeated 17-0 at home. The Gators recorded their 21st sweep of Florida State in program history and moved to 36-17 all-time against the Seminoles.

Sophomore middle blocker Simone Antwi tallied a career-high seven stuffs against the Seminoles, adding five kills and a service ace en route to Florida’s victory.

Thanks,

Except for Dawgs in the East the Rant is heavily West loaded so anything to bump discussion is good in my book. There is tons of folks doing recruiting and football games so I try and hit the ends of the spectrum where less folks get the conversation going.

My main focus are big picture issues like conference realignment, NCAA lawsuits, live attendance in the big picture and the smaller sports discussions on the micro picture.

Gators swept this weekend and Penn State lost so I was hoping the Gators would at least get moved to #2 but Southern Cal jumped over them. At least the Gators picked up 2 first place votes so all was not lost. Overall the SEC was not well respected in this week's poll. Gators and Kentucky swept 2 games each but Florida was left at 3 and Kentucky actually dropped a spot from 18 to 19. Texas A&M got 25 votes and Missouri got 10 votes. Hate to say it but the Vols absence from the polls may actually be hurting the other SEC schools.

Cw Lw W - L (1st) Total School
01 02 10-00 (38) 1,455 Washington
02 04 12-01 (12) 1,395 Southern California
03 03 13-01 (02) 1,355 Florida
04 05 08-02 (02) 1,284 Texas
05 01 10-02 (01) 1,267 Penn State
06 06 13-01 (03) 1,233 Hawaii
07 07 09-02 (00) 1,163 Stanford
08 09 14-01 (00) 1,084 Minnesota
09 15 13-01 (02) 1,037 Michigan State

Big game this friday with UK
Gators are #2 and Cats are #15 in this weeks polls

Both are unbeaten in SEC play and the winner should become the favorite to win the SEC. Game is at 6:30 this friday in Gainesville.

Gator loss to Mizzou drops them 3 spots and costs a first place votes

Current Top 5
1 Texas (44) 13-2
2 Penn State (12) 16-2

4 Southern California 17-2
5 Florida 18-2

Other SEC schools in Top 25
11 Missouri 23-0

No other SEC teams even got a vote so Tennessee being down is hurting the other SEC schools.

031 LSU
037 Alabama
