The people you would expect that would have the authority to move a football game. A friend of mine whose father is in the admin called me to let me know what the plans were because he knows I'm driving down and there have been a lot of mixed messages.

At the moment, there is absolutely no plan to move the game to Baton Rouge. They are working to push it back in the day if need be. Now that all could change if this thing swung further left overnight, but at the moment, that is the plan.

Because they're all hurricane experts in the whole state now because Katrina.

On a side note, my mother and uncle both had homes severely damaged by Katrina. They lived in community on the water in Slidell really close the the twin span. They were actually lucky; if either one of their homes had been a few more houses down their streets, they both would have been washed away.

So, you know, they can spare me the history lesson. I'm still driving down, and I'm also way more worried about the coast line between Jax and Charleston that I am about Gainesville.

Florida and Texas A&M have to do us all a favor by winning this weekend so the LSU and Tennessee madness can stop.

No, they are saying evacuate the coast between West Palm and the FL/GA line. Rick Scott said they estimate there are 1.7 million people in the evacuation area, which is hardly the entire state. Rather than listen to the histrionics of the "on location" reporters, you might try listening to the actual pressers from people who aren't paid to keep viewers. Of course the Weather Channel is making it sound like the entire Florida peninsula is about to sink into the ocean.

I just heard that due to Florida's inability to make a decision that the SEC office is now going to make the final call on what happens.

I'm fine with being called a dumbass. My ego's not all that fragile. I will say I never actually thought LSU fans were insane until today.

You see, the sad thing, Geaux, is that you are more than likely a pretty nice person IRL, at least if research into this particular type of behavior is to be believed, yet you've let anonymity and a message board turn you into boorish arse. That's a pity.

As far as, "what now," my assumption is that the SEC will make the ultimate call on Nov. 19 depending on what they can work out just like they did today.

So you don't think the situation was handled poorly?

Whether it was Foley or Sankey or maybe even Alleva's fault the situation should have been handled much differently

FWI I'm glad the storm is shifting east and hope everyone stays safe

Yes, they did an awful job all around.

All week, Friday was projected to get 50 mph winds and rain, Sat was clear, and Sunday was perfect. The track of Matthew didn't change.

Early in the week, they should have moved it to Sunday, so fans and LSU could have traveled on Sat. when there was no wind or rain. If Matthew happened to take a turn West towards Gainesville and cause devastation, call the game off completely Friday night.

There was no excuse to keep waiting around and take no action until Thursday when the storm went exactly how they projected it to.
