Why so negative on everything about UF? What team do you really pull for because it sure ain't the Gators?

I post on this board like twice a year and I probably won't post again till August but i needed to crawl out of the woodwork and say the idea of this thread is fricking stupid. Don't censor football discussion on the boards. There are very few Gator message boards worth a damn and it would be a shame to lose another.

But everything going on at UF isn't shite, we had a great AD that just retired, a great football coach that is bringing the program back, a good young basketball coach. Things are looking good if the new AD can continue Foley's success.

Matt...maybe you havent heard it on other boards but it is consensus of 99% of the posters that UF sucks, coaches sucks, recruiting sucks, coaches should be fired, UF sucks, recruiting sucks....think I got it all

This board except for mainly two people is quite the contrary and refreshing actually...now the Rant is a whole other animal there is hardly any intelligent lifeforms or anyone who can harangue with dialogue that isnt grade school level.

I like the idea of the steel cage because it is upsetting to have positive news or viewpoints sidetracked all the damn time.

No surprise, outside of the recruiting thread, this is the thread with most activity.

I am on the fence because I think the programs who remain at the top are the ones which the alumni will not accept mediocrity. That said you have to be reasonable about it and ain't nobody getting fired after winning the division the first 2 years, so all the squawking is just aggravating.

And I fricking hate the offense.
But Mac might be a pretty good coach and if we can get recruiting going he may be outstanding.

I will submit to you another Mac. Mike MacIntyre at Colorado. I know they just got shellacked by the Pokes, but they played some damn good football after posting this record his first 3 years:
4-8
2-10
4-9

Now he goes 10-3 and is a hot name among coaches.

Anyway food for thought. Cheers and Go Gators!

I look at the direction before he came in: Struggling to bowl, struggling to beat FCS teams, struggling with teams we should blow out.

And in contrast, we're winning the East regularly and with an offense that might have less overall talent than your top tier FCS team. Certainly at quarterback, maybe at OLine and we've actually got a good stable of backs. But until we find some quarterback who isn't Grier (and our offense looked pretty good with him), we're just gonna be fricked. Del Rio, Appleby, Treon -- are all not going to be anywhere near NFL caliber.

Nobody is censoring the board, what are you talking about?

Problem is, this board has a propensity to turn every thread into a discussion about McElwain, those for and against.

Now if I was the mod.... there would be death penalties and water boarding going on.

Anyway, to get back on track...I agree somewhat with Straws and people lose focus of what good there is instead of what is bad. Hell...a blind man can see the offense has been bad, no shitski....and its been bad since Timmy left for the most part. Mac didnt create the problem but he is trying to correct it. He is certainly smart enough to realize what is and has been wrong. But its hard to make chicken salad out of chicken shite.

What I like about is what makes a lot of others dislike him on other boards...his cerebral nature and his low key huckleberry manner. It fools some folks into believing that he isnt competitive enough...wrong! Oh he wants to win and he will. He has the players relaxed more and that is important...because always screaming at them doesnt work for long....cause they will tune you out.

Again....the man will be our HC for the next two years unless we implode to some insane 5-7 record. He is either succeed or fail..but he will be given the opportunity to do it in at least 4 yrs.

Has the team improved that much over the teams Muschamp coached hear? We only won the east the last 2 years because the division sucks. Muschamp's 2012 team is better then any of Mac's teams. Mac's career at UF will come down to what happens over the next 12 months. If he doesn't improve the offense next year and improve this recruiting class he will be fired its only a matter of when. The fans who blindly believe he will go 11-1 every year will get tired of him making them look retarded .

Well Mac is 2-2 winning the east, won 10 games in year 1 and would be 10 if we win vs. Iowa, and the offensive talent is leaps and bounds better than it was under Muschamp.

But yeah, keep pushing the narrative that he's gonna get fired for having top 12 recruiting classes.

An 8-4 record + 1 bowl win vs Iowa =/= a 10 win season

Sorry, but it looks like he had 4 other chances to get there, but got blown out in every one of them.

The recruiting may have improved offensively on paper but results show he's just as bad as WM stats wise. Winning the east is like being the tallest midget. The SEC East W-L was 36-54 in the last 2 years and UF got destroyed twice by Bama in the SECCG. The goal is to win the conference not be happy you got to the SECCG. Used to be UF had standards of winning the SEC not just getting there and being happy like Missouri.

His recruiting is the worst in UF history during the recruiting era. He's signed 3 projects at QB and his defensive recruiting has been a dumpster fire along the DL and CB. He's signed more 3*s in 2.5 classes than any other coach in the last 15 years except zook who he tied with and zook signed 3 classes. The vast majority of these 3*s have done squat even when removing current commits. Only a handful have made any significant impact. UF Finishing middle of The pack in SEC recruiting doesn't win the conference let alone the CFP. You need elite talent and elite coaching. Both of which Mac doesn't have nor can he get.

I'm beginning to believe that Mac thinks he's still at Colorado St. and not Florida. You know, teams where this kind of thing is normal.

How long will it take you bozos to realize that Mac has only signed 1 and a half classes?

So WM gets credit for the 2015 class right? He was the HC in February 2015 right? Tell me if his recruiting is so great why are we moving Chris Thompson to DB?
