Say Miss State fires him after this year, would you be for him returning to UF as an OC?

At least, we would have a proven offensive commodity calling plays who has significant experience having offensive success in the SEC before...

His ego is pretty big. I don't know if he would be willing to go back to the OC position fresh from a firing.

I don't think he'd be good for UF anyway. Y'all can get someone better. His success at UF was more due to Urban than his own coaching abilities IMO.

Petrino would fix the offense, but I don't know if Foley would go for him given how it ended at Arkansas.

No to Petrino and Mullen. I want a. OC that can recruit and gameplan.

Like who? There aren't many options.

Heck, I'd LOVE it if Muschamp gave Kerwin Bell a call.

Yes I'd take him as an OC in a second. Imagine Muschamp's defense with that spread...oh my goodness I just creamed my pants

I said the same thing before Pease was hired. Get someone who loves UF.
Plenty of UK fans warned us about Pease. As it turns out they were right.

I have no idea if Kerwin would work out at UF but damnit, he loves the school, his passion would show and if he didn't pan out I wouldn't feel bad at all for giving him a shot.

These past 2 weeks remind me of what Charlie did in 2011.

He literally threw the season away after Brantley went down against Alabama.

I think this whole hire a former UFer is a slippery slope. It can go the way of Applewhite at UT. Nostalgia and school spirit can only take you so far. That said, I have no frickin idea how he is as an OC. But to hire him based on his alma mater isn't a road we should go on.

I'm all aboard the Joker bandwagon the rest of the reason with TRob crootin' the whole way.

Being a good coach is more important than loving UF.

He proved himself at Duke. I'm saying hiring someone on the merits of alma mater above all qualifications will get you burned. I say this as someone who has no idea how Kerwin Bell is as an OC.

Best to get the most qualified coach out there, alma mater be damned.

I would be fine with Bell.

However, Muschamp's job will depend on how well Joker Phillips can call plays. He is the next man in line.

He will be taking a job elsewhere. That has been the plan at least.

We did that with Ted Roof. It's a good way for a program to say "thanks for your time, but gtfo". It's good PR for the AD, and helps when hiring the replacement. Good way to go if UF has the connections to do it.
